Help with CW Air Raid Combiner Joint

My Combiner Wars Air Raid toy has an extremely tight combiner joint compared to my other limbs, and it's starting to worry me a little bit. I attempted to take the figure apart to see if I could find the problem, but there seems to be a clip in his lower back that's keeping his torso from separating even with the screws out. Has anybody else tried to deconstruct this figure?

Okay, I figured out the problem. Portions of the chest piece run through to the back, and the canopy pin serves as the bottom connector. Now I need to figure out which way the pin goes.
