Considering the history is the comics and cartoons that may be hard you could try the general wiki (as in not tfwiki) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimus_Pr ... ansformers) as it doesn't reference every episode/comic events take place in.

Not to disagree with the poster above who said not to use tfwiki, http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Optimus_Prime_%28G1%29 has pretty much everything, just divided on seporate pages link off of the main including the cartoon and the various comics.

I know that TFwiki is the most detailed but since he said

I thought he would not like the extensive use of references in the TF wiki which lists EVERY SPECIFIC cartoon and comic everything happens in. The general wiki page has less references.
I'm wondering though what is the issue with the references?
