1. Whats Henkei?
Henkei! Henkei! Transformers (変形!ヘンケイ!トランスフォーマー, "Transform! Transform! Transformers") is the name of the Japanese version of the Classics toyline (and part of the 2008 Universe toyline). Like the Beast Wars Returns toyline before it, this line features several redecoes of existing figures to make them look more like the original character models than their American counterparts. For example, Megatron is silver and black instead of gray, purple and neon green, Starscream and Grimlock are colored closer to their show models, Convoy/Optimus Prime and Bumble/Bumblebee have less white paint, and Astrotrain has a more show-inspired deco of dark gray and purple instead of white and violet. In addition to these tweaks, every toy has various areas cast in vacuum metalized plastic, very likely as an homage to the common use of chromed weapons and parts in the early waves of G1 toyline it emulates. In one further difference from the Hasbro version of this line, the Henkei! Henkei! toys came with a mini-manga.

2. My understanding is that many of the online retailers have some of the figures although some (eg. Rodimus) are WAY harder to get. Try browsing the ads on this site.

3. No new Henkei figures are being produced. However, Convoy (Optimus) is being reissued soon and it's possible others will follow suit.

Just look for the ones that have "Henkei" beneath their names.

1. You kinda answered your own question... they're the Japanese release/repaints of Universe/Classics. They have some chromed parts, and tend to be closer to the animation model in paint scheme (except for weird lightning bolts on Henkei Thrust & Dirge). They didn't have a deluxe Cliffjumper, voyager Ultra Magnus, or legends Bumblebee.

2. Try BBTS, ToyArena, etc online stores or eBay (as Diem mentioned).

3. Like Universe 2.0/Classics, they are on hiatus. With the upcoming Generations iteration of the line, here's hoping that Henkei will be revived as well...

That is Awesome news!!!!! I totally missed out on Henkei Hound the first time. I bought two Hasbro versions (one for play and one to keep sealed), so I NEED to get this. Hound is my favorite TF character of all time, so it is a total must.
