Now I reckon this one has the potential to be very close.

I have to give this one to Onslaught. He has more firepower and is an experienced tactician.

Yeah, Onslaught would win. Hot Spot might be "noble" but he's not strong enough or smart enough to beat Onslaught either in a firefight or hand-to-hand combat.

I'm gonna go with Hotspot, he's way too unpredictable for Onslaught.

Onslaught is huge, imposing, ruthless, cutthroat, and a tactical genius. He's also the leader of an elite commando unit that's existed since before Transformers had divided into factions. They were soldiers before any of the other Decepticons.

Hot Spot on the other hand is the leader of a search and rescue squad. He's used to dealing with the aftermath of what Decepticons like Onslaught are capable of. And if there's so much as a single lifeform in the area it will distract Hot Spot, but make him fight even harder. And as shown in G. I. Joe/Generation 2 Hot Spot is a legit hardass when he wants to be. That suicide run blaze of glory death of his... it still can give me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Onslaught will win, but only because he's a better soldier than Hot Spot. Hot Spot would fight him tooth and nail and go down swinging or shooting, but he's going down just the same. Onslaught's going to know he was in a fight though.

In a straight fight, Hot Spot wins. He's stronger, faster, braver and with greater endurance. Onslaught is more intelligent and skilful with greater firepower.

Onslaught should strike from a distance. One shell could blow Hot Spot to pieces. If his shells fail to connect, Hot Spot will come after him and overpower him.
