My Unite Warriors Lynxmaster came in the post today, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. The only problem I've had so far is the joints on some of the individual figures are a bit tight, particularly on Trailbreaker and Ratchet, to the point where every time I transform them I get worried about applying too much force and breaking something off. Wheeljack's combiner port also makes a worrying CLANG that's louder and feels more strained than the ports on any other Combiner Wars Deluxe I own. Despite this, I'm pleased with my purchase and I do like Lynxmaster more than Superion or Ultra Prime.

Could you take some pics of the toys and their box if possible to show us? Especially Ratchet since that toy is totally new.

Woohoo! Ruination! He looks awesome- I think I'd probably pick this up over Bruticus to be honest, provided there's no major QC issues.

That said, I'd still want to replace those awful hands and feet. Yes they make better feet than the HFGs...but that's not saying much. They still have no forward/backward ankle movement, and the HFGs actually made better hands than the dedicated fists, which have ZERO articulation. At least the HFGs had a finger flap and a moveable thumb.

Regardless, hopefully I'll be able to get him.

(Combiner Wars Bruticus is the only Combiner I have on hand for a comparison right now)

While my version didn't come with a comic, there is this little drawing on the back of the instructions. You've got the Lynxmaster Autobots putting on a play; Sky Lynx is a dragon, Trailbreaker is a knight, Ratchet is a princess (Oh Japan, never ever change), and I think Hound and Wheeljack are doing light and stage effects with their HFG's. I don't know who the three people below Wheeljack singing opera are, if they're characters from Japanese or Sunbow G1 or if they're just entirely new. Optimus, Marissa Faireborne, Ironhide, Hot Spot and someone else (I can't tell who it is) are in the audience.

Gotta say, I'm impressed. I like the original Robots in Disguise show and love any variation of the Combaticons and the Commandos. Unfortunately, I think I would suffer from buyer's remorse since I already have Hasbro Bruticus (I'm very proud that I got all of them individually) and Baldigus is basically a recolor with some new weapons and different hands... Ah well, there goes however much he's worth outta my wallet. And since they made Baldigus.... Could Takara possibly make Scourge out of TR Laser Prime?

As for why Baldigus over Battle Gaia, the latter hasn't been created yet at the fiction takes place, between Masterforce and Victory in 2021. Baldigus has, in 2000 in the Car Robots timeframe. Remember, Car Robots is considered G1, while the Robots in Disguise dub is its own universe. That's also why no US RiD names are used.

Looks great...still not sure what the reasoning was with the almost 45 degree angle shot. would have looked just as nice standing straight, and in form with all the other UW boxart

Wow. This surprised me quite a bit. I went to my go-to importer, TFSource, to order Baldigus, and found their preorder price is $199.99. WTF!? I went to my second choice, BigBadToyStore, and pre-ordered Baldigus for the MUCH more sane price of $159.99. What gives with the $40.00 mark-up at TFSource? Yikes!

I had to look a little, but it takes place on Eurythma. The singers there are from "Carnage in C-Minor", that episode takes place there.

Expect the one for Baldigus to take place inside a bath complex as every member has his own preferred type of bath. O, coffee milk is a must

Fellow Seibertronian Munkky has received the latest Takara Tomy Transformers Unite Warriors UWEX Lynxmaster set, and as we had yet to see any proper in hand images of SkyLynx, Hound, Wheeljack, Trailbreakercuttersomething, but most of all Ratchet - which was only available in the US via the BotCon 2016 custom class - has shared some images with all of us. Ratchet looks great.

Hound looks better than the CW version, but the $3 Reprolabel set got the same effects...

Trailbreaker looks ok. I kind of like the sleek CW bot mode better, but this is really more classic.

Wheeljack I really expected to look a lot better. Seems that the white is more white-ish, but the paint apps are too cartoony, needs more.

Skylynx has marginally different paint apps. I actually dislike the red weapons.

Overall, I was hoping for a little more premium out of this set.

For Skylynx, I actually thought they were using the hasbro stand in the first time we saw it. There really isnt much difference and whatever difference there is doesnt really make it premium or superior. And I totally agree on trailbreaker. I love what Hasbro did with him. I really like the heavy use of tampos we have (like the G1 stickers and even his entire windshield), the Hasbro version already feels and looks very finished with takara not really adding something to make it look premium. That was never really their intention, they just want things to look cartoon accurate, but that just means that Hasbro did a pretty decent job on their end. Its too bad many fans have to get this set just to they can have a factory painted ratchet when the hasbro equivalents for most of the others are perfectly fine.

It's strange and wonderful how those little yellow stripes on Hound make all the difference in the world.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Wheeljack deco ia an homage to a Diaclone version of the Lancia toy.

Or maybe that Diaclone just doesn't have his stickers applied.

Also, love that box painting! Awesome how Lynx is air dropping in the team!

I'm going to ignore all the crazy and point out the irony of Sky Lynx balancing on the one foot that always collapses on itself (at least on my Hasbro one, pretty sure it's a widespread issue tho).

Takara did use "Sky-Byte" in Latin script for Legends Gelshark, though.

The actual Kanji on the box instead translates more accurately into something like "Special Disaster Relief" as Lynxmaster's function.

Yeah, the most that looks different on Sky Lynx are the red inside his shuttle mouth (which was gold on Hasbro's), the red inside his lynx mouth (which again was gold on Hasbro's), and the weapons being red (which were gray on Hasbro's) as a homage to Sky Lynx's longer red tail on both Sky Lynx's original toy and cartoon model.

It's the cartoon colors. The cartoon model was less colorful than the original stickered-up toy was.
