Nope. That's the sort of thing that can screw up post counts and stuff.

If you fully delete an account then all their posts disappear which means a lot of re-synching of topics (depending on what account was deleted).

The best option, if a User wants to delete their account, is to delete the account but retain the posts. The user name and posts will still appear but the account can no longer be accessed.

My personal measuring stick, if they had less than 10 posts, the account can be deleted completely, over that, you just delete but leave the posts. There was no strict policy about it though as the requests were few and far between.

Reasons ranged from being cyber-stalked to being a sook who just couldn't handle opposing opinions. Cyber-stalking I get, but having a sook? Just don't log on. People need to be self-responsible.

That's odd. Usually, most site/forum software handles this normally, and it's similar in case to banning a user.

Perhaps it's the age of this site's software?

It's not an issue. It can be done. Just a hassle.
