There's also the piledrivers that seriously count.

I had seen comparison photos with the old Soege cassettes before. Part of my point was that I didn’t realize just how tiny those were.
Now, I don’t think this version looks bad…
For what it is, he’s decent looking for sure. Especially compared to the Siege figure.
Articulated elbows and pile drivers would’ve made this a complete win for me.
And who knows… There’s a small chance I may keep him.

I love this Rumble, I think he's great. Can't wait for Frenzy, and hopefully the rest of the cassettes that were in the movie, on both sides. Followed by SS86 Soundwave of course.

While I was a bit surprised at how tiny he actually was in hand, as said above he is taller than Siege. Not to mention the fact he doesn't look as chunky/clunky. Besides he is a tape that comes out of another Bot so I don't know how big one expects him to be. I don't think it's fair to compare to MP.

If you really want him, I’d hunt one down for you if you’re willing to pay the shipping too.
It may not be fair to compare this Rumble to the MP version, but it’s the only real frame of reference I have…. It’s the missing articulation that’s bugging me about this figure.
I still like the idea of supporting this subline.
Who knows, maybe he’ll be the cassette I have in Soundwave’s chest…

Thanks but he's not a priority. Beside, the Siege one that came from the Select 4 pack (That I paid a freaking fortune for) do the job aplenty.

Re: Studio Series 86 Discussion
While Rumble is very nice, a cassette to Bot really isn't that difficult a task to make look good.
Buzzsaw/Laserbeak shouldn't be that difficult to achieve either.
I'll be more interested in how they handle Ravage, to date I've not ever seen one I liked because the cassette is ever so present in Panther mode and always looks to skinny and squared off. Now I don't expect them to get him to look exactly like he does in the cartoon, closer than the previous attempt would be an improvement. Same with Steeljaw and Ramhorn for Blaster.

I have a different view, I think this is incredibly difficult to do at the scale and parts count associated with the class. The difference between Generations and MP are significant in that respect.
I really like the Laserbeak that came with Netflix Soundwave, but I definitely hope for a new Ravage. TR and Siege/ER both had major deficiencies, but again, I'm sure it's hard to do better at that size.

Re: Studio Series 86 Discussion
I just meant in the sense it's a robot with squared body whereas Ravage was more rounded off, but I'll admit it probably was difficult to incorporate that much articulation at that price point.
Then again we are in a more advanced technical age than we were in the 90's and early 2K's and even just in the last few years things have advanced. Though cutting edge tech isn't often used in toys. lol

I would agree at this scale it’s a tricky task.
The issue with a Ravage design (at least from what I can gather) is that making a neck/head and legs/feet that are long enough and have decent proportions would require such thin pieces of plastic; they would be ridiculously fragile.
I can handle him not having the curved form seen in the show, but for me that makes the proportions pretty important.

Re: Studio Series 86 Discussion
Ravage will always be the toughest one to do.
To get a rounded body and a cassette alt mode that could still fit in Soundwave they would basically have to make him completely out of flat thin panels that could have a slight curve on one side for the torso. Basically something you could lay flat like a jaguar-skin rug then fold up inside-out into a cassette. Not sure it would even be possible with how small some of the parts would have to be and the parts count might even push things past core and into deluxe with random accessories thrown in.
I agree with them needing to focus on the jaguar proportions for the next go. I think they need to go back to the center of the torso being the center of the cassette like G1, but with the legs being the full width of the cassette instead of halfsies and flip out to the sides of the torso. Head could flip forward similar to G1.

The cassette is the same size as the G1 and the MP. So it's very interesting to see the 3 jaguars side-by-side.
Also, am I the only one to like the Ravages from FOC, TR, and Siege?

I don't hate it, it's certainly better than the last time they made one at that size.

Never should have given those figures auto transforming features.

The idea was neat. To have the "cassette" eject from Soundwave/Blaster's chest and having the minion auto-transform as it crash on the ground.
But, eh, we all know how the execution went.

I REALLY like Generations Ravage, getting him with Hound as a kid was a real treat and I think he holds up well in regards to making a proportional yet cool looking robot panther/jaguar
Also have Siege Laserbeak in my collection, and between the pair of him and Siege Ravage, LB wins hands down
usually leave poor Rav in cassette mode. If they do an 86 Frenzy and he gets different accessories, like the little back blasters with something else I'd probably pick him up. OR another go at Ratbat since that never showed up in my area during the WFC reign

I’m hoping Ratbat & Buzzsaw come with a SS86 Soundwave.
Pack-in a Megatron in gun mode, and imo this would be a legit leader class release.
Later, SS86 could release Laserbeak & Ravage (with a new mold).
Then any other cassetticons could maybe be released with the mainline.

If this lame looking Ravage were to be repainted into G1 colors I would be satisfied with that, and of course sacrificing the fact that he wouldn't fit into my Netflix SW...'nuff said.
