You still have PotP? Wow, talk about carrying old stock, almost Ross-worthy. For the sake of curiousity, what wave?
No offense to the Earthrise line, but I'm gonna skip the ones that already had a Generations-style release, that would include Grapple, Starscream, Wheeljack, and maybe Hoist (I don't own the T30 one). Which is just as well, I got plans outside of this hobby

I'm going in with a similar attitude, though I have to admit, that is a very VERY nice Grapple.

After not being happy with the Titan's Return Optimus and Megatron I picked up the Siege versions and was very happy. I told myself I don't need different versions of the same character. Then they show off ER Optimus with his removable matrix and trailer

Yeah, I said a version of the same thing about TR Powermaster Prime, but ended up buying 3 versions (regular, primitive skate and Magnus prime version) because of the base modes. Then I said the same thing about Power of the Primes OP, but ended up buying it and the nemesis version. Then I said the same thing about Seige, but bought it. I'm now saying the same about Earthrise, but will probably buy it.
I do love the Siege version and particularly the transformation, but call of shiny and new on a store shelf is hard to resist.
I did sell off PotP OP, so yay for minimal progress?

The problem I run into is that even though its "just" G1 Hoist, this is still very much a different figure than T30 Hoist. Same with Siege Springer. I REALLY wanted to pass in favor of the T30, but Siege did enough different things right that I am glad I got him.
However, Screamer DOES have me waiting to see whT redecos they give before I splurge on a Voyager class version ofthe Deluxe I have 8 of already

I'm doing the same. Just like Siege, I'll be cherry picking which bots get to wee wee wee all the way home. Also like Siege, any old duplicate bots will have to go to market.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:No offense to the Earthrise line, but I'm gonna skip the ones that already had a Generations-style release, that would include Grapple, Starscream, Wheeljack, and maybe Hoist (I don't own the T30 one). I'm going all-in on Earthrise. I have done the same with Siege, and every previous character on my "Classics" shelves from 2006-2018 has been updated with the clearly superior Siege/War for Cybertron Trilogy version. It's not JUST the more faithful G1 accuracy in these designs either, but the sculpting, conversions, and especially articulation have taken a major step up over the past decade and change. The face sculpts especially are just so on point now. Looking back at some of the early Classics and Universe 2008 offerings, so many characters got ugly faces that were barely passable as their intended G1 homages. I'm happily selling off what came before at this point, using the money to buy into the new, vastly more satisfying product line.

If TRU was still open in the states, they'd still have PotP. That's not a joke.william-james88 wrote:My marshalls still had potp last summer, so that joke felt plausible.

Not only that, but marked $2 higher than the Siege toys right next to them.

Same with my local Target. Aside from the new Cyberverse stuff the only "new" thing on the shelf was restocked Siege Battle Masters and Micromasters wave 1 and, of all things, BotBots series 1 8 packs. They have so many Siege Shockwaves that they've taken over the Studio Series Leader section, too, so I doubt I'll be seeing Astrotrain or the most recent SS Leaders there any time soon.

I have several Targets in the area, but only one got the deluxe figures — I managed to score all but Cliffjumper.
I got around to taking more pics with Wheeljack — love him & the transformation was nice & intuitive.

That would suggest we're probably seeing all of them revealed at either Toy Fair or Wonderfest and they'll open pre-orders then. Still, it's nice to get even more confirmation of chracters, though I will say, October's a bit far... Maybe Megatron's part of Wave 3?
