after reaching a certain age in life, would you say that will be it after age 60, i will not collect transformers anymore and start saving money for retirement. because it would be pathetic to have all the toys you collected in years surround your coffin at the funeral instead of real people.

I don't belive there will be any magical age number for most people. More than likely just a shift in life. Goals and that may change and they may eventually lose interest, but I doubt many people will go, "well I'm XX years old now, time to quite my beloved hobby" and stop cold turkey. Many will probably never stop, unless arthritis or bad vision makes it impossible for them to enjoy their collectibles.
I've always held, regarding video games, that I'll continue to play them as long as I'm physically able. Same thing would apply to Transformers for most people.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Personally, I'm not an exclusive Transformer's person. I collect them now cause I really liked the Classics line, which brought me into the movie figures. I collect whatever I think is cool at the time (before it was the Masters of the Universe figures until that line died, Marvel Legends until they started to suck, and random other toys), so I don't think I'll ever stop collecting things. Obviously, once I have children and start a family I'll have to prioritize my money, but I'll never stop.

Never.
I'm gonna keep on buying till I croak.
Then, I'll either give them to kids to care for or, if I can't trust em, either donate my collection to a toy mueseum or put em in a Geneva bank for a couple 100 years or so.
I'm clutching at straws here.

Ditto. My collecting goes in phases but for pretty much my entire life I've collected two things consistently; Transformers and Comic books. As long as both entertain me and continue to put out quality products, I'll keep buying them.

If Optimus Prime ever rapes me.
Then I'll be done.
(don't make a 'you can't rape the willing' joke, you're going to have to do better than that)

difficult for even Prime, but what if EVERY single TF toy you have, hold you down, while Armada Unicron and Cybertron Primus go gangbang on your arse... that would prolly end any TF-fan's day

Only after I'm dead will I stop collecting. Then I'll only collect dust..
And I want to be buried with one of my Soundwaves with me.

You seem kind of hung up on this.
Would you prefer to be addressed as 'Old Man'?
