Guess the transforming toy
Okay, this one has been haunting me for a while now. I used to have black apache helicopter which transformed into a robot. The head was silver, the arms transformed from out of the missile pods on the "wings", and the legs came out from under the helicopter. A large bulk of it was die-cast metal. All in all, it was a pretty cool figure, so much so, I remember using this figure as a Decepticon (even though it wasn't a Transformer), and I thought for the longest time it was a Gobot. If anyone has any clue as to where this figure came from, please let me know. Better yet, if you have a picture please post it. Thanks.

tfu.info is an invaluable resource but I noticed a couple of things in that link. Firstly it says there are no known variations but I have a green one so there must be at least two versions. Secondly the robot mode picture has the blades on the chest which looks stupid. That hole goes right through the body so the blades can be attached to the back in robot mode, which looks ten times better and allows the arms free movement.

I came across this site earlier this year trying to identify some figures I have. When it comes to Gobots they have some pretty good information. They even include variations and KOs. The sad thing is that not only are Gobots the poor man's Transformer but they have been severly knocked off.
How bad do things need to get on the KO market that you need to rip off the Gobots? The only thing I could think of was that they thought they were making Transformers. I know that's pretty much how I ended up with all the Gobots I have. People thought they were buying me Transformers, well the jokes on them... actually the joke is still on me because I'm the guy with fake Gobots. I discovered that 80% of the Gobots my friends and I owned were actually KOs.
Oh and this site explains that the black Warpath is the North American version and the green version is a European variant: http://www.toyarchive.com/Gobots/SuperGobots/Warpath.html

Sorry about the delayed post, but thank you. I thought it was a go-bot, but I could never find a picture of it. And running a search through that website before didn't get me anywhere.
I still think it's such a cool robot. I may still have it hidden away somewhere in a box in storage. I'll have to check. Anyway, thanks for clearing up the mystery for me.
