Ultimate Bumblebee is out. Found 3 of him at TRU. Didn't pick him up b/c:
1. Not impressed. Hasbro made him out to be on the same level as MP Prime, but I just don't see it.
2. Way overpriced. $110? Come on!
Still haven't found any new deluxes.

Glad he has hit QC. He hit ON last week and he is sold out at most TRU stores here. I bought two. I will buy a few more when the COSTCO one starts hitting stores. The price point will be cheaper. He is a great piece. The boxed packaging though looks better IMHO.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Great time to be a Canadian TF Collector. $CDN almost at par with the $US!
- Motto: "I once lost a battle. So long ago I can barely remember it."
- Weapon: Thermal Melters
As many Canadians know the $CDN has been steadily gaining over the last 5 years on its $US counterpart. Just 5 years ago the $CDN was worth around $0.60 US and it now sits at almost $0.98! That is a more than 60% increase in value over that timespan. To put this in perspective if I wanted to buy a $60 US TF 5 years ago I would have to have paid $100 CDN. Now I would have to pay $62 CDN. Quite impressive. See the graph below for a 5 year review.
Factors such as the Iraq war and a US debt that has grown to more than 8 trillion from 2 trillion since Bush took power are obvious reasons for the weaker $US while the CDN government is in debt paydown mode and only now owes about $500 odd billion. However, the CDN economy is also flexing its commodity based muscles. Many people do not know that most of the oil the US consumes comes from Canada. Canada is a well established resource based economy which makes it a player on the world stage in a time of high resource demand. There is a downside though as we have lost manufacturing jobs though due to higher cost of our exports.
What is my point you ask with these statements in this post? Well this has all made collecting for many Canucks a much cheaper enterprise. Paying $US for exclusives, going to BOTCON, cross-border shopping and even buying local CDN retail TFs is cheaper. The retail costs still need to drop much more but there is some movement downwards at some stores like the Bay and Walmart who both dropped the Leaders to $59.99 from $69.99 unlike TRU. Still unfair that the Ultimate Bumblebee is priced at $109.99 CDN and is priced at $79.99 US in the States. That is way out of whack when we are almost at par. With luck and some time we should see more movement downwards in due course.
Celebrate Canada. The $CDN strength is something to celebrate as TF collecting (especially the originals priced in $US) keeps getting a whole lot cheaper.

You weren't kidding, amigo: that day was today!

I phoned Wal-Mart LaSalle from work this morning, and found out they had received four. When I asked if they could hold one for me, the lady initially declined, but relented when I told her I'd been trying to get him for well over a month.
When I got there this evening, the new stuff was indeed on the shelves, but she had set aside FAB Bumblebee. XD
Didn't matter. By that point I'd already yoinked two 2008's off the shelves just in case. I lol'd when I saw the FAB, but thanked her anyway.
There are still two more there, waiting for owners, along with an Arcee, two Dreadwings, and pretty much one of everyone else off the new line. I was temped to get Final Battle Jazz, but decided against it.
On my way back home through the Sears in Angrignon, I saw that they too had acquired one of absolutely everybody. When it rains...XD
He's an awesome toy, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get him back into his concept mode.
Now time to keep an eye out for Leader Brawl. Once I have him and Leader Megs (Who is everywhere now), I think I can say I'm done with the movie line...unless they put out a videogame-inspired Shockwave or something...or a Leader-class Blackout.

I'm happy to hear you got him! When transforming him, push his shoulders in so that the quarter panels in the front of the nose are where they should be in vehicle mode.
First, I transform the legs to get the back of the car the way it should be. Then I do the front. After that, I do the arms to make the roof. It's tricky, but you'll get it!
Zellers place Longueuil restocked Deluxes waves 1 and 2 and Robot Heroes wave 1.

So today I found Rescue Ratchet, and Thundercracker as well as Robot Replicas Prime, Jazz and Frenzy. I passed on all of them as I just didn't like the look.
I also saw that super expensive wasteland called bumblebee at Zellers, also $110.

Ult BB is only $99.99 at the Bay. At least there is a $10 savings. Still $$$ though. Looking forward to Rescue Ratchet and T.cracker though. Will try to find them. All the Ult BBs are sold out at the TRU stores across the GTA from what I have seen.

Ninjatron, you can use the 'Edit' button rather than double-posting.
I got the new TRU flyer, but unfortunately there are no TF items on sale this week. However, in store there was some kind of offer on Activision games. Something like you buy 2 and get the third free, I think. I guess that might be handy for those who held off on getting the TF games (assuming you want to buy both DS ones).

Now you know how we feel in Quebec most of the time!

That being said, I've seen a few Concept Camaros and Voyager Primes, but they are few and far between.

*sigh* It's just very frustrating. I wonder when I should toss in the hat and just buy online...
Edit:
payload at sears or zellers (cant remember which) in metrotown
By the way, it was Sears and it's still there. Does that mean at one point they DID have a BB? Zellers is almost completely empty and they tell me they will have more toys at the END OF OCTOBER.

My Zellers never gets anything. I guess they suck, hard.
Anyway, here's my scouting report for the day:
(1337W422102, servicing City of Brossard, Montreal's South Shore)
Sears Champlain Mall - nothing new to report.
The Bay Champlain Mall - Toy Section's being 'renovated,' stuff's moved around, nothing new.
TRU Brossard - movie Cyber Slammers Brawl and Concept Camaro Bumblebee are in. Bunch of Leader Megs. 1 Leader Brawl left. Restock on Classics: Voyager Prime, Voyager Jetfire, and Deluxes Cliffjumper, Mirage, Hot Rod, Ramjet, and a single Grimlock.

Hey, I was at Wal-Mart the other night and I saw they had a box of deluxes on a skid down the isle. Nobody was working in the Toys dept, so I asked a lady in Pets if she can open if for me. Low and behold, Acree, Towline, Payload, Dreadwing, Concept BB, and 1 more I think. I picked up Acree and Towline. I was temped to get another Concept BB just because he is so rare, but I decided against it.

Went out yesterday and picked up Leader Brawl at TRU (a few more left if anyone in Ottawa is looking).
Also found a couple of Rescue Ratchets and Thundercrackers, not sure if they've been sighted around anywhere in Canada yet. Again, there are 4 or 5 of each for anyone looking.

Good news, Montreal! Our favourite toy store, Legends Action Figures, got some new TF stuff.
- Wave 1 Deluxes like Bumblebee and Barricade are still available
- Payload and Longarm are both in, 16.99 each I think
- Concept Camaro is in, but it costs about 30 bucks.
- Bunch of Leader Megs are in
- 2 Classics 'DVD' 20th Prime
- 1 Rescue Ratchet, costs about 50 bucks.
Also, they were unpacking some stuff when I got there, including the TFTM statue with Unicron, Arcee, Hot Rod, etc.

20th DVD Prime? Hmm. I'll be heading up that way tomorrow, methinks...had to get a Doctor Who figure anyway.
Some stuff to report:
Both the LaSalle Zellers and the Alexis Nihon Zellers have received waves of movie Robot Heroes. Feel free, I ain't touching 'em. They just don't look right to me, especially Ratchet. The former Zellers also has a couple of Ultimate Bumblebees.
Wal-Mart LaSalle has nothing new.
Toys R Us LaSalle, on the other hand, got in a buttload of stuff. Yes, a buttload. A couple of Leader Brawls, movie RHs, and an eye-popping amount of Thundercrackers, Rescue Ratchets, and **angelic music** Voyager Primes! GO GO GO!
They also finally replenished their Wave 1 Deluxes, so I picked up a 76 Camaro BB. They have STILL not received anything from recent deluxe waves as far as I can tell, however. There's not even a Dreadwing or Arcee to be found.
Additionally, they also replenished their Classics and by that I mean Prime, Jetfire, Mirage, Ramjet and Cliffjumper.
