Seibertron.com, I have a request. I am familiar with some of your annual events on this site (i.e. the Photocontests). I myself am interested in starting a new event. I call it the (Sabrblade's) Kitbash Challenges. The rules would be simple. Every now and then I would announce a suggestion of a kitbash to the rest of the Seibertronians; give a brief description of the resulting figure, the materials needed, and instructions; and anyone who is up to the challenge would kitbash their figure(s) and send in an image of their results. There is no prize, except for some

:APPLAUSE::APPLAUSE: ing.
Let me know what you think.

Considering the time and effort that has go into a kitbash, not to mention that people here have work, school, and families to tend to, I'd say no.
I'm not in charge here, though. But I don't think people would want to be in a contest require this much effort with no prize.
At least, I wouldn't.

It's not exactly a contest. It's more of just a challenge for fun.
There's no prize for the photocontests (is there?), so why would this need a prize?
Besides, these kitbashes that I would suggest require no glue, paint, putty, or anything of the sort. All that would be needed are the neccessary figures and the right size screwdriver. They're that simple. The only difficulty in these would be obtaining the right figures.

I really wouldn't compare posing a toy and taking a picture of it, to changing the toy entirely.

Then there's that. No one's going to spend money on a toy and the materials just for a contest where there's no reward other than a pat on the back.

Which is why people would have the option of participating. And the target audience are those who are commonly kitbash their figures.
And it's NOT a contest! It's just for fun! It's a chance to see if someone is able to kitbash a figure. Besides, a pat on the back is all one gets for the photocontests, for this one gets a new figure.
Would it help if I gave an example of one of these challenges?

Let's wait and see what the head honchos have to say about it. I wouldn't give up hope just yet. I think you've got a pretty cool idea and there are plenty of kitbashers here that could rise to the challenge.
If this does come to pass, I'd love to see what the people could come up with!
And don't worry about Shadowman, you don't owe him any explanation and he needs to quit speaking for others and quit playing mod.

He
is allowed to have an opinion though right?
At any rate, I kind of agree with him on this, I'm not saying that the Idea is completely horrible (that's not for me to say) but it could use some tweaking. Maybe throw in a few drawing challenges (Hint Hint)

No one said anything about his opinion. I said he needed to stop speaking for others and quit playing mod. Big difference between the two.

Playing mod, v.:
-Telling others what to do despite having no position of power.
I am not doing that. I am suggesting. Hell, in my first post in the thread, I even say that I'm not in charge. And nowhere (And you can go head and look if you'd like), did I say "No you can't."
You, on the other hand...

He has a good point there.
But I digress. Let's focus on the topic at hand shall we?

Thanks, Seibertron. I've been thinking of this idea for a long time and currently I have three challenges in mind.
And, I realized something. You know when I said that no paint or glue or whatever would be neccessary. I was partially wrong. MOST of them won't need paint/glue. But a few challenges will, for those who are really up to the challenge.

How much kitbashing is possible without glue or paint? There's only so parts that can be swapped among different TFs without modification. Might we, perhaps, have an example of one of these challenges?

Let's just say most of them involve switching parts of the same mold.

I think it's a pretty cool idea.
Okay, I'm not really into my kitbashing but I'm certain that there are a number of gentlemen and ladies on the site who would be more than up for doing it.

It's safe to assume that I'm just taking the piss.
