Seeing I don't care to pay the high price for Doctor Who DVD's in North America, I only have picked a few selected stories I really liked, so I don't have those interviews. How exactly does he come off as a prick, as the interviews I've seen on Confidential does show he has a certain attitude regarding Doctor Who, but not to the point of him being 'prick'ish.
Anything in particular of note in how he is in those interviews? Is he comparing those to what he would have done or what?
Like some of the other new series writers he seems very dismissive of anything from the Classic era which to me comes across as arrogance, particularly as Moffatt & co haven't reached anywhere near the standard of the best Classic stories.
In some instances he's right,a show that runs for so long isn't always going to be great but to totally say "our way is best" and reject anything else just because the FX or acting wasn't that great is very disrespectful of the history of the show that's providing him with a hefty paycheque.
He shouldn't seem too dismissive- he's been a fan since a kid.
