Transformers Masterpiece: General Discussion
Re: Transformers Masterpiece: General Discussion
I agree molded detail is better than paint so I would hope they’d at least include a new head sculpt like they’ve been doing with the Masterpiece Beast Wars repaints and MP-36+ but thinking about it I hope they still have plans for a release called MP-44+ that looks like this photo. I think this mock points out pretty much everything I’ve been hoping from a toy accurate 3.0 Optimus

Ya know, I noticed this as I was adjusting my "MP and random stuff" shelf with some new things, but i really do appreciate how tall Trailbreaker ends up in the shelf. He and Artfire stand appropriately tall over car bots present on the shelf.
It also just goes to show how small the trainbots end up appearing in a group setting, which I don't mind, Raiden will eventually end up on the big guns shelf in my case.

Hard to know for certain. Primal and Cheetor/Tigatron were relatively straightforward transformations. But, Rhinox will likely be a panelformer, like Dinobot and Megatron. Maybe to a lesser degree than Dinobot The Flower though.

Amazing what can be achieved when not trying to make the rhino's lower jaw become the robot's chest plate.

Aside from.. Primal, Rattrap, Airazor, Waspinator and Inferno. The faux beast chest is the only feasible solution for MP figures.

I meant in comparison to Rhinox's Thrilling 30 and Kingdom figures, neither of which have a chest as nice looking as this one due to theirs being formed from the rhino's lower jaw.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Aside from.. Exactly. For the streamlined MP look/show accurate look. Corners have to be cut.

The Kingdom one does NOT have his chest made out of the rhino jaw. It's just a "fake" part as it should be. However, my friend said that Kingdom Rhinox look dumb because it looks like he's wearing a bib or a fluffy cravate over his chest. Now I can't unsee it.

I finally got the MP Loudpedal off a buddy. Reminds me how much I enjoy the repaints, and why I don't usually get the first use of molds.

Takara is Reissuing MP Megatron, Sideswipe, Prowl and Wheeljack in 2025 along with Boxsets
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
This may not be news for everyone, but we wanted to give an FYI to fans who may benefit to know that Takara is reissuing several figures next year. For the Masterpiece line, they will reissue MP36 Megatron along with MP12+ Sideswipe, MP17+ Prowl and MP20+ Wheeljack. Those are the toon deco versions. This will be happening in 2025, along with 2 multipacks: SS Devastator and Legacy Menasor.
In less exciting news, they will also give fans another chance to get the Universal Studios redeco of the Studio Series Leader DOTM Megatron toy.
It is unclear which of these will be exclusive reissues through takara tomy mall and which will be non exclusive, and available readily on Amazon Japan and other Japanese retailers.

I presume that that's ROTF Devastator rather than the upcoming SS86 one.

I wish they'd reissue some of the hard to find UW box sets. Getting that Takara Computicon for less than $400 would be nice.

Might have been better for takara to to take all the hasbro clearance SS69 Devys rather than resissue it, nice to see the MPs available again though.
