Anyone want to talk some Baseball (MLB)?
I would love to see more home and home series
Like instead of a team playing one division and there rivals like Yanks/Mets,Cubs/Chisox in ahome series I would like to see them play like one team from each division home and home along with the rivalries
4 interleague series at each of there homes and this might bet better then the format they have now because too me its getting old.

Anyway, I'm just grateful that the Dodgers survived the onslaught from Brokearm Mountain (starring Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Derrek Lee).
Yanks got swept away by the Angels. Ouch.

Yeah, the Angels seem to have the Yankees' number. I read that the Angels the only team with a winning record against the Yanks in the Joe Torre era.
Tigers got swept by the Indians at home! Ouch! And we have to play them again this weekend.
Cleveland teams beat up on Detroit this weekend, as the Cavs beat the Pistons in the Conference Finals.

Call me a homer or a die hard fool but I still beleive the Yankees will make the playoffs. There is still a long way to go.

Yankees have done a bit better lately. I wouldn't count them out of the Playoff race.
But it looks like they'll be without Jason Giambi for awhile, whether or not he decides to cooperate with the steroids investigation.
Clemens is due to make his first start and Wang looks he's going to do well if he stays healthy.
Detroit goes up against the Mets tonight. Meanwhile Nate Robertson is on the DL - his last couple of starts have been bad especially that ugly one against Texas where he faced just six batters, gave up six runs including a grand slam, and couldn't get anyone out.
Andrew Miller will be called up to take his place in the rotation on Sunday. Miller won his first big league start against the Cardinals.
Speaking of great young pitchers, looks Detroit got another one in the draft with Rick Porcello with 27th pick.
But he only dropped that low cause teams were afraid they couldn't sign him, and I kind of feel bad about this. This wouldn't happen in other pro sports. Oh well, I'll take it.

I never put much stock into the draft
The top picks hardly ever make the majors and if they do there mediocre
Its usually the people like Mattingly and Piazza guys who were piucked in the higher rounds that do become all star caliber

The mets have never drew 4 million fans to shea in one season as the Yanks have done in the past few to the stadium

You think that's impressive, I went to a Pirate game today and they won!
How I long for the days of my youth, when the Pirates actually contended, only to have Barry Bonds choke in the playoffs. I actually cared about baseball then.

Heck yeah, dude! Totally amazing! I wish I had been there. I vaguely remember watching the end of the Jack Morris no-hitter with my mom while we were at K-Mart. Very interesting that tonight was the first game this year that she and I watched together.

I still think they have a chance of catching Boston. The Red Sox haven't really been through a stretch where they really struggled (although they did recently lose 4 in a row for the first time this season), but at one point Boston will go through a period where they'll win like 7 out of 20 games. Every MLB team goes through a stretch like that.

Great game on tap tonight with Mets at Yankees. Pitching match up looks solid on paper. I believe it is Chien-Ming Wang facing El Duque.

Wang pitched a great game! There were some talk about whether he should have stayed in to get the last batter, but I guess like they said, the numbers (of the pitcher facing Delgado) were too good to ignore.
My Tigers pulled off a late comeback to beat the Phillies! I was worried about Verlander after his no-no.

Yankees vs Giants
Too bad I won't be able to see Giambi vs Bonds!
Anyway, the Dodgers were carried by Russell Martin, as they won vs Toronto, 8-4.

It's the return of Mr. Kenny "Pine Tar" Rog- um, er,... I mean Mr. Kenny "Shut down The Yankees, A's, and Cardinals in the playoffs" Rogers as the Tigers go up against the Braves in Atlanta tonight.
Looks like Mike Maroth might be on the trade block...
