Add another one to the Masterpiece rumormill.

TakaraTomy just posted this Tweet, and it's making some people think that it could be hinting at the next Beast Wars MP being Rattle (Rattrap).

Of course, it could just be nothing. But if it is just nothing, then it's a pretty random thing for Takara to Tweet about.

The message itself simply says "Good morning! Thank you also for today!" with the last two syllables of the message (masu) edited to read instead as the English word "mouse" ("mausu") in order to make a pun. This is then followed by a textual art graphic of a mouse and a screencap of Season 1 Rattrap.

So, grain of salt and all that jazz.

Yet, if true, I'd be onboard with that! Let's see how they handle one of the harder figures for show accuracy.

They hinted at MP Cheetor with even less than that. there was the outline of a cheetah on a logo/ button on the Takara website and he turned out to be the next.

So if The Vermin is the Next MP, it could mean Leo Convoy wasn't a default selection for MP Beast Wars. But, perhaps the start of a MP BW Second subline?

Rattrap will be cool, and probably a lot cheaper and smaller than a transmetal version for MP Dinobot to ride on. Not sure about potential whisker damages like with the cat bots but it should still be more acceptable that fragile groins.

Also already wondering what accessories he will have to bump up the price on him, maybe a sound box or something.

I dont quite follow. Lio Convoy has an MP number same as the other beast wars MPs, the G1 MPs and Star Sabre. I definitely think of him as a one off akin to star sabre. Having rattrap further confirms that for me.

More likely because he's a Convoy and this is the 35th anniversary of the brand. Takara likes celebrating anniversary years with Convoys/Supreme Commanders.

I brought this up because of considering the viability of MP Transmetals. People had been talking about how size and scale would be an obstacle.. I see your point. I had assumed Takara was adding Leo to the Beast Line, as the next standard entry after Blackarachnia. I didn't consider him as a One off, like Star Saber. Which is actually quite annoying by the same token. As although I'm not particularly interested in SS or another Convoy/Prime, I would have been interested in MP versions of their antagonists...

Season One Rattrap is carried by Airazor in her alt-mode, so no one is really riding him.





These should give you an idea of the scale we should be expecting. As far as accessories go? Demolition charges in his forearms? Something from 'A Better Mousetrap'? The Maximal chip from 'Double Jeopardy'?? Stuff like that.

Poor Rhinox may be the last of the original 4/5 Maximals to be done then, poor guy. But he got a super great T30 toy, so it's all OK for now. I'm guessing if Rattrap is next he would price out somewhere around Blackarachnia

According to this, Lio Convoy is considered a part of Takara's way of celebrating the 35th anniversary, along with the Gold Convoy Statue and other celebratory things.

Posting this as a general precaution to anyone concerned.

If you come across the following image being touted around (like it is here) as a teaser for a potential Masterpiece 3.0 take on Starscream, do not be fooled. For this is not a MP 3.0 Starscream teaser, rather it is the original teaser image for the very first Masterpiece Starscream from back in 2006.

Apparently, MP Hound will come with a G1 toy accurate rifle.

I'm hoping the next MP will be of ROTF Jetfire, to make up for the Studio Series version. That or a real Masterpiece Movie Ironhide to replace the marginally-better-articulated knockoff of the DOTM Leader-class toy.

I agree on Ironslide, but Jetfire? I think his Studio Series figure is so good, it can last years without an update. I mean, what is there to make up for on that figure?

I hope if thats the case,that they can do a Jetifre toy without it having to combine to Masterpiece Movie Optimus Prime,so the vehicle mode and robot mode can have more focus.

That's what. He's not quite as badly off as the original in robot mode (because he's not having to lug around the stupid speaker and battery box) but he's still gimped from being shoehorned into combining with Optimus (And don't go "But they combined in the movie" because they didn't; Ratchet and Jolt kitbashed Jetfire's corpse. Saying they combined is like saying Scrapmetal combined with Movie 1 Megatron to make ROTF Megatron). And his vehicle mode looks to be even worse off than the 2009 toy's.
