Looks really good. I kind of wish he was a little smaller to be more cartoon accurate though. It would be nice to display him with my Autobot team but he will tower over them too much. But still an instant buy for me.

Also, glad they went with red on the ends of the arms/tower "guns" instead of the black seen in previews. Much more coherent looking.
I agree. They look really good as a team.

Some more pics swiped from the TFW2005 forum:
The first few of these are weird, as I'm not sure why someone would have Metroplex's robot mode this way. I guess this person just really wanted to use all of the parts...

Now we come to some city mode pics, and these help assuage the one fear I'd had, as I wasn't sure if the guns integrated with this mode! (Or battle station mode... but no new pics showing that mode off yet, so we'll just have to wait and see. So... half assuaged, I suppose...)

I don't think the turret is properly placed on the helipad. But other than that, I like what I am seeing here!

So when this figure breaks apart, you get two identical handguns, right ? Im so glad I didnt waste 100 bucks more on the takara/SDCC version just to get an extra gun I wont need anymore.

Yeah, this definitely takes away the sting I had on missing out on the SDCC version. Reprolabels will give me the chromed hips. (The face being chromed is less important to me.) And this will give me twin guns for him to hold. The stock gun can just stay as a shoulder cannon.

Re: Before N After - Six Sigma
I'm still having a terrible time deciding between B&A and TFC. I've seen video for both now (TFC wasn't in English though) and still am having a hard time deciding.
Loving almost everything about TFC accept there's no slammer. I also super like those massive arms, it makes him more interesting looking to me.
I'm really liking the B&A version. It's less poseable but has a SLammer....well....at least i think it does. Plus i like the turret on the helipad gimmick.
I'm in quite a pickle over this problem.
First world problem that is.

I will admit that the photos and reviews that have been coming out recently of the TFC version have been making it seem less unappealing... But I still can't get past those forearms! Also, while Sixgun is a figure that, by design, needs some partsforming, I think the TFC version took it too far where as the B&A version only comes apart as much as it needs to. (Of course, the excessive partsforming does give the TFC version some added flexibility. So it has a silver lining.)
I suppose at this point, it really is a matter of personal taste. I, myself, like the looks of the B&A version better. Also, I want the Slammer! Speaking of which...

True. Even an actual G1 Slammer only goes for around $8 on ebay right now. Of course you could get real creative and do what some customizers have done and repaint Warpath or repurpose Skullgrin or something. There are definitely options.
You could even do something truly original (and possibly quite expensive) like repurposing Flak here (or just repaint/repurpose one of his mold-mates):

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.

You could just wait on the Iron Factory one. I think that set looks pretty cool.

I was interested in this figure, but after watching the video I don't want him any more. He is two or three times bigger than I was expecting.

Unfortunately, I've had to put off buying mine until next month(or at least after next weekend).

That might be enough to get me to ship my POL. It's the last improvement to Metroplex I am doing at this time. (I might spring for the Reprolabels. My stock stickers are starting to curl in some areas... Grrr...)

I waited to see what Reprolabels did before applying any stickers. I liked what I saw, so I ordered them. (Although while putting them on, there were a few places where there was a Hasbro sticker that Reprolabels left blank, and even a very few spots where I liked the Hasbro sticker better, so some Hasbro ones ended up going on, as well.)
The Reprolabels are nice, I recommend them. Just be prepared to take a long time putting them on, and be careful with some of the smaller ones! (I dropped one in a crevice on Metroplex, and had to disassemble his entire upper body to retrieve it!)
But yeah, Six Sigma will be the last of what I'm planning on for the big guy. Can't wait to have it! Maybe I'll even finally get off my arse and do some reviews for my website again! (Been thinking of giving Fansproject's Stunticons a review, too.)

Re: Before N After - Six Sigma

Found a video review! It's the red armed version. It's the final product, as the reviewer shows off the box and also (unlike Vangelis' review) has the Scamper as well.
This reviewer also has the TFC version, and does some comparisons between the two. (To each their own, but seeing them standing next to each other just really accentuates how strange the proportions of the TFC version's robot mode are!)
Overall, this video maintains the excitement I have for this figure! The biggest oddity I'd take away is that the sticker sheet includes labels for the black guns that come with Metroplex, but only enough for one of them. I suppose, since I have Reprolabels on those guns already, that it isn't that big a deal. On the bright side, the stickers that go on what comes in the box do seem to add nice detail!
There were a few points the reviewer expressed concern for long-term durability for tabs or pegs. But of course, these things are often hard to tell for sure until the product actually stands the test of time. I've had things that seem solid out of the box and eventually crumble, and other things that seem like fragile nightmares and are still going strong!
Oh, also Scamper has transformation to make him a tower for city mode. I hadn't seen that shown off anywhere previously. So yay for that.

I'm going to wait for the Iron Factory version for now. I've decided that, for better or worse, robot mode is the most important one for my Metroplex. I'd rather have figures that scale to him in that mode, and have tinier accessories (like the ones that come with UT's head upgrade) that just emphasize how massive he is.

Man, I'm getting impatient to get mine... Been sitting in my stack at TFSource for a while now! But my impatience doesn't quite yet override my desire for free shipping...
When I do finally get it, however, that will be the last (and biggest) of my additions to Metroplex, and I shall have to write a review of everything. The thought of taking the photos for that review is kind of daunting! But still, I look forward to it.
(After taking far too much time off from it, it has been nice to be getting back to updating my review website recently! I should also do some work on my Classics Toy Catalogue project one of these days...)

Ok its in my pile of loot but im just now noticing they are advertising them as being for takara or hasbro versions. These forums originally reported the red and black arms being a choice of cartoon or vintage G1 toy accuracy. Nothing was ever mentioned about the shades of red or white plastic being different. I own the hasbro metroplex. Is their anybody out there that can confirm if the red plastic used on both hasbro and takara is the same color ? Also is there anybody out there with the red armed version of six sigma that can confirm its the brighter white plastic that only matches with the takara white plastic ? I might have to adjust my order if the red arm version doesnt match the hasbroplex plastic colors.

You haven't been following this thread much, have you, Rated X? Don't get me wrong, I see you've posted in it more then a few times... yet you're expressing surprise about something that should hardly be a secret to someone who'd been reading it. The first mention I can see of there even being two different versions was when preorders went live at TFSource. It is way back on page two of this thread (in this post here, by yours truly) at which point they were refered to as "US Version" and "Japanese Version." So the fact that they were allegedly meant to be paired up with national region has hardly been a secret.
That being said, I own Hasbro's Metroplex and yet have the "Japanese Version" on order, and have since the beginning. I just like the looks of it better! I don't have it in hand yet, so I cannot comment for sure on color matching, but I am not too worried. Or worried at all, for that matter.

Pretty sure the person who made the video review I shared in this post has a Hasbro one (albeit the SDCC version), and is reviewing the red armed version, and it doesn't look bad to me.
If you're still scared, though, feel free to postpone shipping your order until after I do have it in hand. I promise plenty of photos!

Edit: Oh, and here you go. Another post from page 4 of this thread, where I shared someone else's photos I'd found of the "Japanese Version" paired up with the Hasbro retail Metroplex. Doesn't look bad to me!

Thanks. I missed those pics. I preordered him way back when there were no colored pics. Looking at those pics it looks to be pretty nice. I was kind of worried about the white plastic. Im not ready to ship yet waiting on talon and a few other things. Did you ship yet ? I look foward to your pics. Thank you in advance.
