BotCon 2007 Exclusive Set Revealed and Registration Now Available!!!
Sunstar wrote:is there any faint hope now that I can get a titanium Skywarp if it's release? or is that going to be some exclusive somewhere I can't even get to?
I think Titanium Skywarp is still planned for release. It's part of a diecast line that retails for $15 a pop, is marketed towards older collectors, and is either mildly liked or completely hated by the fans because of the limited transformations and weak joints. So, of course making all three original seekers plus an obscure yellow repaint with comic-only alt-modes in that line makes tons more sense than a widely available Classics Thundercracker. It's just so much more marketable.

The thing that sucks about this exclusive set is that it's 3 characters that a lot of people want mixed with 2 characters that we could give a **** about. They should have done all or nothing. And by "all" I mean all 5 of the figures being core characters. I mean, if you're going to release the remaining 3 Seekers, all of which are in obvious high demand amongst fans & collectors, why not just make the other 2 equally important? Why screw so many collectors by making them pay upwards of $350 USD / $400 CDN for a set of 5 figures knowing full well that 2 of them are space fillers?
I dunno, even though I already faxed in my non-attendee registration with payment for the set, I think it's all ass backwards and definitely a dirty move on the part of Hasbro (yet again).

I really hate America. And I am also starting to hate those that can actually go to Botcon and get these figures, especially when they ask those that can't why they are whining.
It's bloody obvious. I hate this so much.
**** it all. **** Hasbro. **** Transformers.

Quit all your bitching people it sounds ridiculous.
Classics was OVER, DON, FINITO. You weren't gonna get them at retail anyway so stop complaining. It wasn't as if we didn't know they were going to do this.
I for one am excited about it. But I am going so...
If anyone wants a set I will be willing to help, PM me.

I think part of the reason people are bitching is BECAUSE Classic is over. Most everyone I know loved that line. It was "filler" to hasbro, but it was Transformers done right to me. Movie toys look like hideous monsters, Alternators are too complex and high priced, Titanium are a bit overpriced and simple. Classics was near perfect, and now, the last few we are getting are limited release at inflated prices, then nothing will follow. CRAP!

Yeah, I see now why it makes it easier.

No thanks. I'd rather go without than deal with an attitude like yours.

Hmmm... Perhaps Hasbro will do the same thing with these exclusives as they did at the San Diego conference with Alternator Nemesis Prime. Release him as a convention exclusive and charge a lot of money. Then produce more quietly and release him to retailers later.

If we are to believe the announcement at the Botcon web site, these toys the ONLY way to complete your seeker set.
I do hope we see a SDCC exclusive Classic Sunstorm, if there isn't one at Botcon.

This kind of attitude is not needed or wanted around here. So either change it or take yourself someplace else.
For some people it may be financially difficult for them to attend and shell out that kind of scratch. I would love a set but unfortunately I have a job and other responsibilities that stop me from shelling almost 2.5k for one convention (trip there and back, hotel, transportation, food, entrance fee, the package that includes the particular seekers).
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

The point is we could of They could of continued this instead of being asses about it
Plus the price of the sets is too damn high if it was affordable to most of us I bet we wouldn't be so damn mad

You know what, shut up. In one post you have managed to disrespect a country, a company, and a property which seems to have brought at least a moderate amount of enjoyment to you. All over 5 toys. I feel for the people that can't get these toys, but it is not the end all be all of life.
I was assuming that Thundercracker was going to be an exclusive, so I prepared for it. Granted, not everybody could still afford it, but if you wanted one bad enough you could have been preemptive. Do I think he should have been mass released? Yes. Was I prepared for the possibility of not being able to get him? Yes. Would I profess my absolute hatred for those that I deem responsible for not allowing me to finish my toy collection, and who incidentally created the very toys that I fell in love with as a child? No.
Now can we maybe get some conversation going as to how cool this Botcon could be?
I apologize if this got anybody miffed, but that post really got under my skin.

Yeah, on the one hand, this is ridiculous that these are extremely overpriced con exclusives and on the other hand these are a crappy excuse for overpriced con exclusives.
I mean think of all the past con exclusives. The only ones I can think of that were a similar case were the (was it RID?) repaints of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker and the Energon repaints of Ironhide and Ratchet. Beyond them and a few LoC seeker repaints they've always been pretty original and unexpected. These come off as pretty lame in that light, especially since it's the whole set.
Will it make them some money? Probably. Will they be insanely scalped, hunted after, and good collectibles? Without a doubt.
However, as much as I hate to think of it after Alt. Nemesis Prime, I think a Hasbro Toyshop triple pack for about $40-$50 would have been a much better way to go.
Just so help them if something really neat pops up like that C-Cosmos figure that might have ended up in Classics. Of course, THAT would be a great con exclusive though.

Just a FYI but the world of collecting can be quite competitive and when collectors are not able to "finish sets" due to a bonehead decision like this from Hasbro it can be quite disheartening and upsetting.
NOW THIS IS THE LAST WARNING I AM GIVING ON THIS SUBJECT SO READ IT AND TAKE NOTE.
If you are going to Botcon and are picking up this exclusive set please do not complain about the people that are unable to attend due to the expensiveness of this particular con OR their inability to attend due to other circumstances. Try to be a little compassionate for those that feel "screwed" by this latest news. People do have the right to complain about it since they could have easily released those figures before the movie (right now would have been a good time since besides the new alts there is no real new TF items shipping).
And if you are not going to Botcon then do not slam or give attitude to those that are able to go.
If the crap continues I will split the post, lock the junk and move it to our junk thread area.
Not a sheeple.

I do feel bad for the people that cannot attend, that is why I wanted to put in the caveats that I thought that Thundercracker should have been a mass release and such. Really I wish that everyone had a chance to get these for a reasonable price. It was just the sentiment in that particular posting that bothered me. He may even be a nice bloke
. I just did not appreciate the venom in which he posted his distaste for the situation.

I understand, just so you know the warning was not directed solely at you but at pretty much everyone.
I would love to snag a set I really would but I don't think it is going to happen. C'est la vie.

I must admit that I'm as upset as the next fan about this too. However, I look at it like this. The Classics was just a filler line and Hasbro seems to have no plans to continue the line after the movie. So the way I see it I will only get screwed once by the expensive and exclusive nature of this set. So I intend to purchase the non-attendee package, complete my Classics seekers and be done with it. Thank God my wife is ok with this!

Collection Count: Just enough G1 & Classics to make this look good!

I think its bullshit that to have a complete transformers classic set I will have to shell out at least $279.00, where is the customer loyalty. After reading this I will no longer continue buying the classics line.

I can see where he's coming from though. Botcon is suppose to be like Wrestlemania for Transformers fans. Everyone here that isn't able to attend has every right to be angry at what ever they want. Even the people that could attend but can't afford it have every right to be angry. I mean, yes, it's great that the figures are at least going to be release, albiet to a small controlled populous.
Botcon is the best example of customer loyalty I could think of giving you. Just that it comes a little steep every once and a whileterrordive2020 wrote:where is the customer loyalty
