Energon Shockblast - Is he any good?

Postby Kriszilla » Sat Dec 08, 2007 12:02 pm

I'm considering getting an Energon Shockblast for my collection, can anybody tell me anything about this guy?

I know he's a triple changer, but that's about it, and I want to know opinions on here before I commit to buying one.

Shockblast is quite simply one of the best molds from the energon line, perhaps not the best or most imaginative alt modes but his robot mode is one of the best G1 homages ever created.

I own him and think he is awesome, great looking with great articulation and he is simply armed to the teeth. Get him man, you will not be disappointed.

I got Sixshot, only because I found him cheaper. Exact same as SB, and I think he's awesome. Keep in mind because of his alt modes, the arm cannon is huge though. Not too many good poses without having him top heavy.

Thanks for the replies, I'm probably getting him then. I just hope I win the bidding.

How much do you guys think is the maximum I should be willing to pay for him?

Loose, but complete with instructions, everything is visible in the pictures.

Shockblast is the best homage to a g1 character yet.

He fits in really well with the classics line. Looks like an upgraded version of G1 Shockwave

His huge canon arm limits the poses a bit, and his waist isn't really strong enough to hold him in others. But he just looks so incredibly cool.

Its really a good buy. even if you don't use his satellite mode. You can give him a nice looking yet unofficial Gun mode.

I agree with all the positive stuff above, E Shockblast is awesome. The only gripe is his cannon arm which is too big. It should have either been half the size or been able to split in two for his robot mode.

I bought two and merged them so mine has two normal arms. Looks great.

I also have a second figure which has two gun arms but he spends his time in a sort of spider mode which doesnt look too bad either.

Shockblast is the bomb-diggity! He stands tall amongst my classics 'cons and looks great doing it. While there may be a bit of limited posability, you can still do cool stuff like the pose that I have below.
