1. This is the Movie universe NOT G1, yes it is based on G1 but it is not the same so wanting G1 Soundwave ain't happening.
The key there is though that is is
based upon G1. It still plays homage to the original and remains true to it.
2. After doing some research on Soundwave I've found out that his alt.mode is a walkman not a stereo and his primary function was COMMUNICATIONS not ESPIONAGE. So to me it sounds like IF they were to make an updated version of him it would be an iPod or some other MP3 player, which to me would be a ridiculous alt.mode am I right?
A
Walkman is a stereo. It's a portable stereo headset tape deck. The only thing Soundwave was missing was the earphones. Secondly, In both the cartoons and comics, whoile his bio function lists him as Communications, most of what he
actually did was espionage.
3. Even if Soundwave was a stereo or whatever if he's trying to infiltrate a high security area he's gonna be noticed if only because there are strict rules about what can be in certain areas like no cellphones or radios beyond this point and its not because of clean rooms its because of the possiblites of data being stolen or intercepted.
Mabe not, but a steeo mode will still get him in the building where he can hack into the security systems and release his minions who cound get into the other areas. Sondwave remains in the main office area on the shelf plugged into the wall, while Booster X-10 (Lasrerbeak) slips in to the high security area unnoticed (MP3 with ear phone in alt mode [
Real Gear], he's tiny) and completes his mission like a fly on the wall. Secondly, Air Force One is probably one of the
most high security areas you can get. And that is because the
President of the United States is on board. Security areas have scanners which can tell if a stereo or other piece of electronics has been altered for clandestine recording. For a Transformer, that is not a problem because in alt mode, they literally
are what they transform into. Thus any X-ray would pick him out as a
simple stereo with nothing out fo the ordinary. Sorry, try again.
4. Tramp is still acting like a broken record which is VERY annoying and I wish he would find a new tune.
Not gonna happen.
And 5. Well... thats pretty much it. I've seen plenty of good ideas for Soundwave's alt.mode and seen Tramp shoot down each one cause it didn't fit his view of Soundwave. I'll tell you now what remember when I hear Soundwaves name is his monotone synthed voice, his cassette minions and the fact that he is Megatrons right hand man, so as long as he has that going for him his alt.mode DOESN'T matter, besides they're called robots in disguise so sometimes a change in alt.modes is neccesary to stay disguised.
It isn't just because it doesn't fit "my view". It doesn't fit
Soundwave. It changes him to the point where he is no longer Soundwave. No one would recognize a vehicle as Soundwave.
