Illinois Transformers Sightings

TMNT sister site is gonna rock, I've been picking up the new Nick 2012 line of toys and they are AWESOME! The price is also a refreshing change. Working on finishing the 1st wave of figures then will have to resort to ebay for a Shell Raiser- have never seen one in retail.
You getting the new stuff Seiber, or are you into the older lines?

TMNT sister site.. Nice!
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I collect the Masters of the Universe Classics line. I don't collect the TMNT or vintage MOTU figures. I'm extremely familiar with both lines and can spot their parts for figures from the vintage lines out of a massive pile of parts.
I've been buying vintage collections of both series and have about 500+ figures from each toy line currently. I clean them all up, put them with their accessories and then list them on eBay. As I'm going through these collections, I take photos of them in order to reuse the photos on their respective future fansites. This was the only way that I could figure out how to feasibly do other fansites. It's a different strategy and business stance than I've taken on Seibertron.com. I'm extremely passionate about Transformers and have been for 28+ years ... I just want to expand the concept so that others can enjoy my vision of future fansites.
The new sites will be hybrid sites that combines online retail with some of the elements all of you have come to expect from a fansite.

One of my ultimate goals is to open a warehouse with a store inside or a brick-and-mortar store here in the northwest suburbs. I've got a ways to go before that can happen but I've been laying down the foundation for it one step at a time over the past few years. Taking it slowly to make sure I've got all of my ducks in a row.

Man..a brick and mortar store out here that sells vintage toys run by a huge Transfan.. if you ever open it, my wallet will grow legs and just live in a tent outside the door.
I'd offer to lend the 2012 Nick figures for your photo albums, but I've painted the accessories with metallics. If that doesnt matter, then let me know and I'd be happy to help!

Part of the appeal of having a brick-and-mortar store would be to have the opportunity to do comics as well. We have some nice stores out here but nothing that's truly memorable like some of the really awesome toy and comic stores that I used to go to when I was a kid.
If I could get the comics going as well ... first rule for the store I'd have would be no minimum for a subscription, card charged when books come in, no restriction on how long it takes for you to come in and get them. I can't stand that as a Transformers comic collector that I can't get subscriptions at any of the stores around here because of minimum order limits and such.
Toys first, comics second. Gotta get the toys under my belt first and foremost. That's the most important thing to all of this.

My favorite part about buying vintage collections? Getting other toys and parts that are just thrown in with the collection such as this vintage 1985 Super Powers Wonder Woman toy that came in a generic 80s toy lot that was made up mostly of Turtles and He-Man.

I had this figure as a kid. I loved comic book toys when I was little. I have no idea what happened to her or any of my other comic book related toys, but I do remember having lost her for a while shortly after I got her but by accident my Dad randomly found her buried in the yard when he was doing some yard work not long before we moved to a new house around 1986.

FOC Deluxe Wave 3 and Beast Hunters Deluxe Wave 1 Found at TRU in Central Illinois today 12.31.12!!!
Happy New Year's Eve
.
I know this may not be news to East and West coasters, but the Midwest sucks when it comes to even distribution or early distribution of any Transformers line period. I live in Peoria, Illinois, which is kind of in the middle of the state, and found these figures at the Toys R Us off Sterling Road. I had a half day today and decided to head to my brick and mortar TRU. To my astonishment
I picked up the following:
Beast Hunters Lazerback 2x
(gotta get my BW on!)
Beast Hunters Wheeljack 1x
FOC Deluxe Kickback 1x
(totally awesome bot sculpt!)
They also had FOC Air Raid, FOC Sideswipe, FOC Ultra Magnus, BH Bumblebee, and BH Soundwave. I also saw a fresh case of FOC Voyager Soundwave and Soundblaster. Kudos to my TRU and my Illinois distribution center.
I snagged Kickback right away and other two were just too cool to pass up. There has been a price hike though as all deluxe figures are now $15.99 even at the brick and mortar store (no news to anyone I'm sure)...total bummer if you ask me. I cannot believe these figures made it here before March. I did not have my camera so no pics attached and could not post the sightings as these figs are not on the Seibertron site yet. I hope more of the Midwest starts seeing these two lines and that FOC and Beast Hunters continue to make it here earlier before ending up at discount stores. This area has a TJ Maxx but the Marshalls closed and the 2 Ross For Less stores are currently being built...I hope to snag extra FOC come next Summer or Xmas. Thanks for checking my post.

Thanks for the update. I merged your topic with the existing Illinois sightings forum.
FYI ... the midwest is an excellent place for new toys. People just don't expect to look for them as quickly as they should. I always find new figures within a week or so of the first U.S. sightings. The trick is to pay attention to where they're showing up nationwide and then find out when your local stores get in new figures. If you're not there early in the morning, you'll usually miss them.

Ok, looks like the new FoC wave and Prime BH hit TRU Niles/Golf mill. Popped in on the way home from work and there was 1 Magnus from FoC wave 3 left, grabbed him. There was another TF collector there and we griped about the Kickback/ Starscream being gone already.
Also they got in either 1 or 2 cases of the Prime BH deluxes- picked up Soundwave and Bee- there was another Bee, 2 Lazerback, and 2 Wheeljack still on the pegs.
Also 1 or 2 FoC Soundwave voyager for anyone looking. No Soundblaster however.

I was there around 7pm tonight. I didn't see any of the FOC wave 3 deluxes there ... but there were a few Beast Hunters left. I grabbed Laserback for myself. There was one there after I left.

TRU on Butterfield Rd was nicely stocked tonight. A couple FOC Soundwaves and Soundblasters, plenty of discs, some FOC Air Raid/Ultra Magnus/Sideswipe/Starscream (I bought the only Kickback), all the GDO Deluxes IIRC, the current Beast Hunters Deluxes, including Lazerback, who is huge! Also Terrorcon Cliffjumper.

For the small TF buyers (that is, buyers of small TFs, not small buyers of TFs, although you are more than welcome to use this news too), I saw 2 of the Beast Hunters Cyberverse Smokescreen Sky Claw x2 and the Breakdown battle armor armor thing x1 at Rosemont Target tonight. Also the new Bot Shots Spin Shots Optimus and Bumblebee sets.

Picked up a Predaking at the Meijers on Boughton Rd tonight and a Grimlock at the TRU on Butterfield. Last one of each. But then stopped by the Walmart where 53 and Butterfield cross and saw a Grimlock for sale about 5 bucks cheaper.

Hit up Meijer on Golf road in Niles, they had two cases of the Optimus/ Predaking voyagers in stock. I got my 1 of each and the other 6 were still on the shelves.
They also have Soundwave/Soundblaster if anyone still needs that wave of FoC.

The TRU on Butterfield had the whole FOC Starscream wave in multiples, minus Kickback, on Friday. They also had the Blaster and Grimlock Voyagers.
And, which ever one of you guys it was that grabbed the only Blaster around 11am Friday when I was standing right there, you are a meanie. I just wanted to look at it, and you bought it. I didn't want it, but I saw it like half a second before you picked it up. I'll probably never see another one in the wild. Damn your fast acting!
*I'm totally joking, but I was about to pick him up and look at him. I snoozed and I losed I guess.
