I wish there were some way to just get the Onslaught buff pieces rather than the complete set. Because he really looks like his in-game model now.
Unfortunately I've no love for the combined mode. Damn shame.

Wha? That is an entirely new Onslaught figure with addon parts for the rest of the team. The original onslaught is discarded entirely

It looks every bit as good as I was expecting! That said, I'm a little pissed they are going with retail colours first after teasing with PE/SDCC colours

Looks great, but I don't like the whole having to be disassembled part of the set.
That, plus AoE stuff coming and XTransbots sets doing kinda the same thing for half the price (actually, half the price and lower) and whatever 3rd party stuff comes out this summer, I just can't swing it.
Though, the disassembly issue, is the biggest roadblock to me.

I have to completely agree with this. I love how this looks. But I think money is going to have to go somewhere else.
Plus, my FoC Twin Twist has a mis-assembled leg and I am having a devil of a time getting the pin out. I don't think I want to go through that again.

From the video Daimchoc posted a bit back showing how to assemble one of the arms, I don't think any pin knocking is necessary...

Didn't one of these kits involve knocking pins out? I'm sure I remember reading that somewhere, but I could be mistaken...

It looks good and I Would welcome takara and G2 versions. But this kind of goes a step backwards towards the old crossfire set. The 3rd party bo t makes hasbro bots look like crap. Maybe they should just do the other 4 limbs and find a way for them not to parts form into arms.

Pre-orders from BBTS
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MBC10000&mode=retail&utm_source=Marketing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Marketing&utm_content=
They Charging $119.99 so $10 on top of recommended retail price?
I guess they're charging for all that costumer service that everyone loves.
EDIT: maybe they'll adjust for the early bird pricing.

Hopefully they change it, as $10 is still a difference that will be used to get the 'arms' of Bruticus as I have yet to buy those two.

I've disassembled both my (now repainted) retail guys and the Platinum guys and it is nowhere near as bad as you might think.Autobot032 wrote:Looks great, but I don't like the whole having to be disassembled part of the set.

No pins need to be removed to form the arms, Blast Off and Vortex come apart very easily.mooncake623 wrote:Agamemnon wrote:I have to completely agree with this. I love how this looks. But I think money is going to have to go somewhere else.

Swindle looks absolutely awesome now, but the extra bits for Brawl weren't handled quite as well. I'm also not fond of Blast Off's gun being part of Vortex's alt mode. Those are minor complaints though, the real niggle is that Onslaught's colours look a bit to dull for the retail version but could work really well with the PE/SDCC versions if it wasn't for the Bruticus feet being the wrong colour

I don't have a WFC or FoC collection, so as I've said previously my biggest issue with this set was trying to accept Combaticons with Cybertronian alt. forms. Onslaught is a pretty nice design and the overall package that is Bruticus is spectacular.
However, so long as Microblaze is only putting out a set coloured to go with the general retail version then I have absolutely no problem skipping this.

I'm fairly certain that they will be doing a PE/SDCC version, at least when someone on TFW contacted them that's what they implied.Sodan-1 wrote:I don't have a WFC or FoC collection, so as I've said previously my biggest issue with this set was trying to accept Combaticons with Cybertronian alt. forms. I've also had challenges overcoming the FOC integration. I do have a couple WFC/FOC figures, but I'm still slowly acclimating to the idea of having such a large and noticeably FOC piece. To the extent that my Classics collection is a hodgepodge of Generations, WFC/FOC, Movie, and now Prime molds, I guess I have no excuses...

That's why I have the Platinum Edition and Takara versions (both bought on clearance, thankfully) in storage (AKA my closet) for such an anticipated outcome.

If I can get a PE set at a good discount, and these guys actually put one out in those colors, I may bite ... but that is a lot of IF.

The PE was super cheap on TRU.com for Black Friday - $60 I think. Figured at the time it was worth the risk; worst come to worst I get some/most/all my money back on eBay.
