i'm not sure how everyone (including myself) missed this until now, but the site advertising this wave, is advertising it as Wave 4. That's wrong.

So there's one more thing to add to my list that this is false information all around. Again, every one of the molds so far in the Thrilling 30/Generations line has been either new, or a repaint or remold of a character in the line already (Trailcutter/Hoist, Goldfire/Bumblebee, Dreadwing/Megatron). Using Jazz as Nightbeat just doesn't jive. Nothing about this listing seems likely.

I was only listing main line figure toylines, as Kre-O and Construct-Bots are construction-based toys, Bot Shots are battle game-based toys, and Rescue Bots are a different breed of figure toys.

Not to mention that Kre-O and Rescue Bots are over in the Construction Aisle and Playskool Aisle, respectively.

Normally you'd be right. However, Hasbro has taken up a habit of resetting the wave counter when a new year rolls around in the middle of the line. As such:

Goodness gracious, Jhiaxus has some awesome near-Sandstorm levels of retooling going on:



New head, new wings, new torso cockpit, new chest vents, new tailfins, maybe even more.

I didnt realizr Jhiaxus was an extensive retool. I might be happy with mold as Jhiaxus after all. Especially since Armada SS will be off to the side with Hot Shot. But Im still extremly let down with Nightbeat as a Jazz mold. That mold has been used like 7 times on my classics shelf already. (Jazz,G2 Jazz,Stepper,Kickoff,Longblast,Grown up Wheelie,Treadshot)

I wonder if this means he's getting body modifications in the comics too..

I don't mind the figure as is, but I'd like the colours to be closer to what he looks like in his IDW incarnations, I'll admit.

...I feel incredibly stupid for thinking that the Windblade figure was Jhiaxus.

But anyways, these all seem pretty good. Can't say I care much for Nightbeat, but hey, s'a good way for people who missed out on the Jazz mold to get their hands on it.

I will wait to see these guys in stores. I am happy to see the retooling, but the colors are really throwing me off.

I can't believe a character like Scoop can get a brand new mold and new target master guns, mean while guys like Jhiaxus and Night Beat get repaints. I guess Hasbro figures we will buy them simply because they are important characters and we won't care that they are repaints.

Given how rapidly Dark Cybertron is progressing, the only way Jhiaxus could be rebuilt in that form is if he survives the event. There simply wouldn't be time for him to take on a new body in the meantime.

Still, given how much retooling is going on, I have some hope for the figure. It may not be the IDW Jhiaxus of Furman and Barber, but 11 years is long enough to go without a new figure.

I was hoping that Nightbeat was either a new figure or a retool of Bumblebee/Goldfire.

I love that Jazz mold, but not too keen on Nightbeat using it. I'd rather Hasbro just release Wheelie again, unless they're...chicken?

I'm not apposed to re-using the Jazz mold, as I think it's one of the best Deluxe molds of the 2010s, but I have to agree that it would have been more concurrent to use the new Bumblebug mold for him as it would be a great way to use to mold for... well ANYONE who isn't Bumblebee. I absolutely refuse to pick up that mold until it gets a release as a character who isn't Bumblebee, and I'd have thought Nightbeat would create that opportunity.

Jiaxus... I'll wait and see, but I'm already not happy with the new screamer mold, so meh.

And I don't know why anyone should care about Wingblade.

Sabrblade - In reference to you say ing there are three at retail, I wasn't counting the minor lines and building toys just as you were not appariently due to your other comment to the other guy. To answer your question, the line that will potentially kill the Generations line is the new toy line for the new cartoon series coming in the fall.

Wave six will probably be the last wave of Generations. I know people were getting excitied when they saw someone post a listing in the Walmart inventory system about a Generations Arcee, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I google searched Generations Arcee today and the first story on here that it referenced was one from 2011 where everyone was gettiing all excited over the same exact thing. And we know three years later we still haven't seen a release. Toylines in general throughout the last 50 or so years have been notorious to omit or shortpack female figures. That is why Acree got the shaft in the 80's and why it might happen again with Generations. The sick thing is, like Shockwave, she is very popular in other lines. Showing that this trend of female action figures ot selling is silly. But, it is insane to me that Arcee has never got a G1, G2, or G3 (IDW) release. And even more so that with this time now being the perfect opportunity to do so they give us a whored out, obsolete RTS Jazz mold, slap some rave paint on it, and call it Nightbeat. Not to mention some of the other irrelevant figures they are giving us in the last two waves. Baffling.

Again, I hope I am wrong. Generations needs to continue. And maybe it will. But TF4 will run until about JUL-OCT of 2015 and we know there will certainly be a new toy line for this new show. What room does that leave for Generations? People like us are in the minority by far and once reatil wants 50 TF4 and new catroon Bumblebees it is hibernation for Generations. I hope I am wrong, but I think in about nine months most of you are going to be looking thru orange colored glasses (your eyes seeing red blending with the sea of yellow plastic).

If Nightbeat ends up being the abomination pictured then I fully agree. But, even if not, they should have gave us a Thundercracker and Skywarp from the Armada Starscream mold rather than Jhiaxus. But that is because Jhiaxus needs its own mold. Not this fraud. Of course, these picks could be a mock up and the real Nightbeat and Jhiaxus will actually be worth buying.

If these three are true representations I will definitely skip rave Jazz there. Because I can never look at that pic and think that is Nightbeat, let alone put the thing in my IDW collection and pretend it is part of this line. Might skip the fan made one too, just because I don't care much for it. I will get Jhiaxus regardless, but it will be one of those figures, like FOC Ultra Magnus, where it looks like a very forced repaint.

If this news is true (I'm not convinced), here are my opinions:

While I can see why they would choose the Jazz mold (both G1 characters were Porches), I too am disappointed in the mold choice. A character as unique as Nightbeat deserves better, and I do feel the mold is overused, despite few of those reuses actually being available at retail.

Jhiaxus also deserves better, and he's too close in color to Starscream to warrant a spot on my shelf.

Windblade is a wait and see, as before. I'll get her if the figure looks cool, if not, she'll be a pass like the other two.

The mold use makes no sense. Hasbro changed the whole deluxe size class two years ago for cost cutting to reduce plastic use. It doesn't make sense that they would reuse one of the molds they did away with for that very reason? The GDO stuff was for the Asian market and when it was sold here at TRU it was at a premium for a time. For them to reuse this mold with the smae price point is baffling. That is why I think this is a hoax.
