You're going to need a **** load of firepower just to get past those Ion and Gauss Cannons PLUS the shield.

I noticed

Best attacking ships I can develop right now are cruisers. I was moving towards battleships, but R+D will have to wait if I'm building up a serious attacking fleet. Well, at least I pull in over 100k metal/day, that should help me build plenty of light fighter fodder. :lol:

No, keep with the R & D. You're going to need Battleships to bust through the Ion/Gauss/Shield combo.

I don't think it'll matter how big of force you make comprised of LF/HF/Cr, they'll be torn to shreds by the IGS combo.

True. A Gauss alone can take out 2 Cruisers without sweat, The Shield dome can absorb another 3 Cruisers fire, that is, if he doesn't have tech upgrades... now he'll be a tougher nut.

EDIT: He has shield tech at lv.6 so count that he'll pull up a large shield dome before you can attack him... You need bigger ships.

OOOooh man the guy at coordanties 1:226:9 is tough took out me 2 cruisers, my 5 heavy fighters my light fighters and most of my cargo

You need some IPM's. That'll do the job for ya.

That and when they're launched it should give you enough time to run and hide on another planet. :lol:

Of course the other alternative is for all those SEIB'ers in that area to build up Battleships and send them to orbit in steve's place, then co-ordinate an assault from there.

Hmm, I'm only two silo upgrades away from IPM's now that you mention it... if steve can afford an alliance depot on his planet I'm more than happy to loan a few ships out to defend. For long enough to let you rebuild a bit.

um i may have started a war against another alliance. i didnt see that they had a policy that if one of their planets is hurt theyll start a war against you. so um what should we do now?

Even though i'm not in the alliance I recommend they boot you out and not be associated at all with you.

At the very least let us know who they are so no one else makes the same mistake. :lol:

I tend to go after people that aren't allied. When I do go after allied targets I make sure there's no others in that alliance anywhere nearby that could provide backup.

I is teh sneaky.

So sneaky poor ol Whiney probably doesn't even realise i've probed him in the last week. hehehe

were you probing random planets without checking their alliance status, or just feeling ballsy?

They are one of the weakest alliances, the 9 members together have 3500 points...

Anyone have any idea on how long it would take to get Cruisers from Galaxy 2 to Galaxy 5?

It would depend on systems and your drive level. I'd say around 3 hours-ish, as it takes my small cargo 9 hours to do that kind of distance and cruisers are 3x faster base speed.
