I see. So HHH basically covered for HBK. Again.

I guess, but to me, five weeks is kinda quick to build a match, especially a Wrestlemania-quality match.
Rodimus Prime wrote:I think the match will still hinge on the performance of the 2 wrestlers, and HBK is just added as an extra feature. Maybe he'll screw HHH "accidentally" like he did Taker in 1997?
Oh, I'm sure the match will still be good, especially when compared to their match last year (Hell in a Cell kinda guarantees that, to be honest; if nothing else, it’ll be a spectacular train wreck). It's just that Shawn's presence more or less hangs in the air whether or not the streak will end. And like at last year's Wrestlemania, without that hanging over the match, I'm pretty sure it won't be awesome on repeat viewings.

Well, quality isn't something I really look for in WWE stuff anymore. That way I'm not disappointed. But, considering the wrestlers and their abilities, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. If they crank it up over the next few weeks, it might be one of the matches I look forward to. Otherwise, Besides Hell in a Cell, this WrestleMania is going to suck. (Given that The Rock will job to Cena. I will be thoroughly shocked if he doesn't.)
And like at last year's Wrestlemania, without that hanging over the match, I'm pretty sure it won't be awesome on repeat viewings.
Yeah, but the WWE doesn't care about that. Once they have your PPV money, that's all they need.

Don't forget they're building a new Cell for the out door structure, PG era cell? Also, Hulk Hogan has a sex tape, one liners go!

If you're talking exactly 10 years ago, he was facing Ric Flair at WMX8. I liked watching Flair, but no way was he gonna win. If you're thinking of the general time frame, let's take it from WrestleMania 16 to Wrestlemania 20.
WM16 he wasn't even there.
WM17 he fought HHH. If he had lost then, it would have been acceptable. The streak wasn't so apparent yet.
WM18 I already mentioned.
WM19 he fought Big Show and A-Train after Nathan Jones was injured. It was a good match, but again, he wouldn't lose to those guys.
WM20. Round 2 against Kane. If his return hadn't been built up so much, I could see him lose. I said before, it should be Kane he eventually loses to (probably next year), like with Austin and The Rock at WrestleMania. 3rd time's the charm.
I'm not speaking so much about any of those particular matches, just that around that general time there were opponents he never faced at a Wrestlemania that no one would have questioned him losing to (Austin, Angle, Rock, even Lesnar)

Yeah, those guys could have gotten away with it, especially Austin and Angle. Rock and Lesnar? I doubt it. The Rock could do it now, if he sticks around until next year.

It was good to see the Doctor of Thuganomics return last night. Reminded me of when Cena was fun to watch. But he had nothing on The Rock Concert. That was some funny ****.

The Rock concert was proof that all you ever need is three chords. I do wish he did some legit songs as he can sing and play well.

On a side note,
I predict Miz will be on Teddy Long's team at wm.

No kidding. That was pretty much the highlight of Raw. Then again, I am more amused by Rock's antics than Cena's lately.

I agree that he will be on team Long. But I think final pinfall will be Santino, WWE seems to figured out he's over like very few others right now. Sort of a new lovable goofball. But I expect Team Laurengitis to get an early advantage due to brute force and it be like 2 on 5 with Miz and Santino left for Team Long and Miz will get 3 pins leave Santino alone with like Henry and another big guy and he'll take advantage of a miss spot. Miz gets a good rub the following week for setting things up maybe a push back into a title picture. Sheamus vs Miz after Wrestlemania?

No. He's still a heel. He's also not involved in Wrestlemania (yet), and has spent the past few weeks trying to convince people in charge to give him a match, reasoning that he should be involved because he defended and retained the WWE Championship at last year's show. (Of course, he glosses over the fact that it was due to Rock's interference...)

OK, tomorrow is the big night. I didn't watch Smackdown after finding out it was pretty much a recap show. Did I miss anything new?
Also, any last thoughts on tomorrow's actually impressive card?

Well Rock/Cena won't be the match they've built it up to be.
I'm hoping Undertaker can still put on a good show, and that he doesn't lose to HHH.
Jericho and Punk should be a good match too. Punk should come out on top on that one.
Sheamus and Daniels? meh ... Vegan boy will weasel his way to victory.

Cena Rock won't be near the show they're hoping. Rock Wins, Cena doesn't gain anything by winning over the Rock so he throws a bone to Rock.
Undertaker/HHH I expect to be short, spot field (choke slam off the top onto something?), and clean. Like Cena, the company gains nothing by the streak ending here. Taker wins.
Team Teddy/Team Johnny Lots of ways this can go, I HOPE WWE lets Team Teddy win. Teddy Long is 1,000x the heel Laurengitis dreams he could be and is 100,000x the face Laurengitis dreams to be. Much more entertaining non-wrestling personality (one of my favorites along with Bobby Heenan). If Johnny team loses I do almost expect Miz to be the one pinned. Lots of rumors that Kofi turns heel during the match.
David Otunga is still the WORST wrestler and the most boring personality I have EVER watched on WWE/WWF, WCW, or TNA. I'd rather be tortured with having to watch Sharmel and Jenna from TNA on a consistant loop than watch ANYTHING having to do with Mr. Jennifer Hudson.
Jericho/Punk if given the go ahead will STEAL THE SHOW put money on that. This will show me if WWE feels Punk is an important part of the future, with the way they've booked it with all the mind games. I don't see how Punk remains on the tier and loses this match. Also if this was ANY OTHER PPV I think Jericho wins.
Sheamus/Daniels... as much as theyve put into Sheamus recently I don't see how Sheamus loses. Probably AJ face turn or "missing" a spot cause Bryan to lose.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread

I am actually excited for this year's WM, much more than I was for last year.
My predictions:
Cody Rhodes will probably win over Big Show in a cheap way. I want Show to win, but Rhodes plays the antagonistic ass really well. Perhaps it will return some merit to the Intercontinantal title.
Team Teddy will win, and Laurinaitis will go back to his *actual* job of being boss of the talent. Unless Triple H is in line for that job? Johnny did make a good heel boss, but I think Teddy can unify that "authority" role and be on both Smackdown and Raw, as either a heel or a face. And maybe it's just me, but I want the Miz to turn face and help Team Teddy win. I think that Zack Ryder is just stringing Eve along and will dump her ass at WM.
Speaking of, the most unnecessary match on the card will be the women's tag match, with the celebrity Maria and Kelly Kelly winning. I can't believe Beth Phoenix, an actually talented wrestler, allows herself to be misused like this.
Sheamus should beat Daniel Bryan, otherwise the last 2 1/2 months are wasted, as is Sheamus's Rumble win. Also, hopefully AJ screws over Bryan, either accidentally or on purpose.
I think Punk will win, Jericho is on the back end of his career, and will do the right thing and start putting younger guys over before he's done. Unlike HHH and HBK, as well as Hogan before them.
I am most looking forward to Hell in a Cell. It might be just a spotfest, but it'll still be the best match on the card, and most people will go away convinced that this should have been the main event, much like it was at Wrestlemania 25, when HBK and Taker outshone HHH and Orton. Of course Taker wins, 20-0 sounds much better than 19-1. I think HBK will screw HHH over, either on purpose or by accident, setting up the main event at next year's 'Mania, HBK vs. HHH, which is what both of those egomaniacs want.
The *main event* will be less than what most people think. The only way this could have been better than the Cell match was if they got Steve Austin to be the referee for it. Though I also believe Cena/WWE have nothing to gain by having the Rock lose, it will most likely still happen, as Cena is sadly the face of the company, he can't be muddied up. And he won't lose in 2 WMs in a row. Hopefully I'm wrong. Also, personally, I'm not really a fan anymore as much as I was during the Attitude Era, but if the Rock loses, this will effectively end my interest in the WWE as a whole.
Not sure if I missed anything, but I'm really looking forward to this. I'm also looking forward to getting the DVD set, because I think the HoF line-up is really good. I did think Randy Savage should have been included, but who knows what the story is behind that. Maybe the Bulldog could have been on there as well. I know Owen Hart will never be, as Vince and Owen's widow hate each other's guts, but the Bulldog and perhaps even Jim Neidhart could be added to join Bret and Stu.
And I just read that Brock Lesnar signed a deal with WWE and is supposed to show up at WrestleMania.

Lesnar to interfere in Hell in a Cell? He and 'Taker had a run in during one of the UFC's after all. Though it would make no sense for Lesnar to feud with 'Taker.

I am betting that Lesnar somehow interferes with the main event, the Rock loses and sets up WM next year.. Rock vs Lesnar.
*edit*
Looks like Team asshole won their match.. Looks like the heels will run all over now.. Unless someone steps in and knocks Laurenitus (however you spell his name) down a notch.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).
