Thoughts on Classics Mirage?

Postby 5kywarp » Tue Oct 30, 2007 2:56 pm

I wasn't planning on getting him but to get free postage at amazon I needed to spend a bit more so bought him too.

Just looking through the pictures on here I'm starting to regret it (he's not arrived yet).

His G1 was very cool and I'm not feeling this classic version especially with what should be his chest is now his gun WTF?

He's the bee's knees here. He can take so many kick ass poses. Get him.
I'm looking for Purple animated Shockwave or DOTM Shockwave. Hit me up!

dont worry. you won't regret it. Classics Mirage is great. his skinniness is not so noticeable in person and he is very nicely articulated. IMO worth the price and shipping. You can get a lot of really cool poses out of him.

Yeah that's why I went for him over classics BB or CJ. He does look damn skinny though.

If you prefer the original look you can leave the gun/wing attached to be part of his waist.

my walmart's had about 15 of him in the clearance section for retail price (?) since before school started back up in late august. been looking at him every time i go just waiting for that price to drop so i can get a good deal, but im starting to have doubts about a price drop seeing as its been 2 months of 9.87 (or w/e the price is).

That's waht I do. give him a bit more of a G1 feel, plus I kinda like the idea of him ebign able to grab his gun off of his body.

That's what I do with mine!

I gave him a G1 Superion's gun. Just need to thicken the gun handle some so that it'll fit more snugly.

I wasn't a fan of Mirage before I bought him, but I honestly think he's one of the best Classics - if not one of the best Transformers I've ever owned. The skininess is a matter of opinion, but I find that it makes him look very spry and fitting for his character. Besides, one think nobody can dispute is that Mirage is by far the most articulate of the Classics, and that translates as big, big points for me. ^_^

He's a 10/10 as far as I'm concerned.

Mine dual wields a gun from Robot Masters Star Saber along with his crossbow thing.

I'll second that.

My only problem with him is that his chest doesn't lock in anywhere, it just lays there, so he tends to start to transform while I'm trying to get him into a spiffy pose.

That's really a minor gripe.

To the OP: You seem to diss the Bumblebee mode. He's actually another really good Classics(not that any of them are bad, really :-?). I recommend picking him up as well.

The lean look works for mirage.

Awesome fig; looks great in both modes, and incredible articulation. And because of the size and articulation in his feet, he's also very easy to stand; there's great pics flying around of him throwing roundhouse kicks and just generally standing around on one foot, and that's not something you can get many TFs to do.

I also store the gun in his chest unless I want him to hold it. You can also fit it to a slot in his back if you want to stick to the normal robot mode but leave him unarmed.

I have two, since one went missing somewhere and I spotted him at a discount in Wilko's. When he eventually turns up, the new one's getting a repaint job.

howcome you went with him over bb? I mean BB is my favorite, but mirage is certainly up there.... BB is pretty hard to find, mirage is really easy to find actually.

Classics Mirage is one of my favourites. I think his build makes him look more unique than the usual bulky tfs, he looks either really lanky, or has a "muscleman" build, the obvious "v" shape with narrow waist and wide chest. What's the coolest about him however, like mentioned by all the people who posted before me, is the fact that he is really poseable.
