Why not all heros? It's not like being Canadian makes the heroism any better.Plus I don't know many Canadians...

Wayne Gretzky's probably #1 in a lot of Canuck's (and Oilers
) hearts.

Any number of hockey players would also work, but those 2 are definitely tops.

Canadian Heroes
I think ex-swimmer Karin Helmstaedt should be listed among Canadian heroes. Helmstaedt, a native of Kingston, Ontario, took part in the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she finished 4th in the 200m individual medley event. During the 1987 Pan-American Games in Indianapolis, U.S.A., she won two bronze medals in the 200m and 400m individual medley events. Then, in 1991, Helmstaedt alone held 4 Canadian records, which then became world records, in the 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 200m individual medley and 400m individual medley events. She currently lives in Berlin, Germany, where she works a presenter for the magazine programme Euromaxx and is also a lead singer for the jazzpop duo Breathe. Back in May Helmstaedt was inducted into the Kingston and District Sports Hall of Fame.
