Exclusive ROTF Rodimus Project!

Hello, I am working on a project to convert ROTF sideswipe into Rodimus prime. I have painted the whole figure red and added the yellow flames. I have even added the engine of Hftd Lockdown to sideswipe as seen on rodmus chest.
But now i dont have a idea on how to make/costumise the v shaped spoiler. Do you guys have any tips or advise on how to paint and make that V shaped Spoiler? Any help would be appreciated.

Well, the easiest way to go would be to pick up a spoiler from a G1 Rodimus from eBay or Wheeljack's Lab or someplace like that. Then all you'd have to do is figure out where on Sideswipe it'd fit best, drill a hole the same size as the post on the spoiler, and Bob's your uncle.
Less easy would be to fab a copy out of styrene sheet and rod (available in a hobby store or online) paint it yellow, and proceed as before. You'd be able to fine tune the spoiler's design that way, so it'd fit Sideswipe better.
