Good issue, good series so far!
The bit with Shockwave at the end was perfect, his comment about how much damage he could do to Earth in the time he was supposed to use to "handle" the rogue Dinobots and Cassetticons was perfect.
So in the second issue, it's Slag throwing a fit, this issue it's Swoop. I'm excited to see this type of dynamic in the group. I like that Simon is addressing that they are a team together but that they are a team of loners and rebels. So what type of a leader does Grimlock have to be to keep them all in line?
I think ultimately Max Dinos is going to be about Grimlock and his coming of age in to leadership, and will have huge amounts to say about teamwork in general. This is especially refreshing as this is coming out during the same time that the G1 Marvel run is being released (currently on Volume 3) which shows a Grimlock in a leadership role but in high contrast to his character in the Max Dinos series.
Additionally, the same sort of thing could be said about Scorponok. Recently the Energon Ultimate collection was released and so I'm sure I'm not alone in haveing just watched the series and seen a very different Scorponok than how his is portrayed in Max Dinos. It has been nice to see Scorponok as the menacing "big bad" this time around instead of a weird flip-flopping flunkie who gets his face bashed in everyonce in a while, like the Scorponok of Energon did.
I'll also say, given the wide array of radically different stories in the Transformers multiverse, I'm having no problem at all reading Max Dinos alongside AHM. Can I possibly be alone in that? The comics forum has been very quite for the last few issue releases... are there truly fans out there who have given up on all of the IDW offering simply because of a few continuity issues between AHM and the Simon stories?

what continuity issues are there? i thought the last AHM finally proved that this is all talking place in the same universe.
i'm really curious as to what happens to shockwave and the dinobots after all this is over. we know where soundwave and hotrod end up. also really cool to see the monsterbots, i've always loved grotusque for some reason. So i guess you can say i've enjoyed maximum dinobots, although i have 2 small gripes.
1)i know he does mention that there's more this time around, but i hope skorponok really does have some cool plan up his sleeve not just like what he did on nebulos in Spotlight UM.
2) in some of the action scenes it is just WAY to hard to tell what's going on. not that that the art is bad but there are entire panels where all you see is silver/black/red/yellow. couldn't they have at least made a few other color sunstreaker clones?

The same continuity issues that arise when one looks at "The Clone Wars" cartoon with regard to the rest of the SW Universe (though this is true of any SW product in general, this is the clearest example): we know how it ends because we've seen how it ends.

can that really be considered a continuity issue? i thought the term meant inconsistencies in the story. and also there is still plenty that we don't know about anyway. the only things we know are that sunstreaker got separated from hunter, hot rod lives and is with kup's crew and soundwave and his minions are back with megatron. we have no idea where the dinobots are at the end of this, or what happens to shockwave/skorponok/monsterbots/machination. i don't think this is a direct lead into to AHM either, the events we learned about in issue 7 have to happen after maximum dinobots.

Continuity errors in AHM? Sorry I won't list all of them as I have things to do today and don't want to type all day.
Yes I am one of those fans who stopped buying TF comics because of AHM, but I said I'll be finishing off with Max dinos and sadly I am forced by my comic supplier to buy AHM till #8 which I'm glad will be soon.
Max Dinos is so awesome it actually made me want t cry as I know that the idw TF universe will never be as cool as that. The only thing that could bring me back to reading anything from idw would be if they stopped AHM, took it out of continuity and let Simon redo Revelations and continue the way he intended the series to go.

Re: Maximum Dinobots #3 Discussion Spoilers
Max Dino's #3 was a strong issue for characterisation, and for a "straight out of left field" backup group of bots, can anyone honestly tell me that they guessed that those three bots would appear in Max Dino's?
Milne's art gets better and better, this issue had a real Gen 2 vibe to it, not only in the style of the drawings, but also in the feel of the fight scenes, you could really see the damage and destruction caused in this issue, unlike many of the fights in previous books.
It's a shame that we more or less know how this series will end thanks to AHM time skipping, but At least we have a few more issues of decent characters to go before Furman's run takes a breather.

Re: Maximum Dinobots #3 Discussion Spoilers
It was theorized in MD #2 that the bots in silhouette were the Monsterbots.
I was cool with this issue up until the end when the dialogue became muddled and confusing. I didnt know what people were referring to and even who was talking. "We still do" what?
Lastly, no one notices a giant gun flying around in broad daylight?

I think that the "we still do" was added in probably at the time of lettering the issue. What ever happened to editors doing the editing?
I will pass on getting excited about monsterbots. I did have to laugh about Swoop on the cover, he sure looked effeminate, HaHa.
I wonder why April will have two issues released. Doesn't make much sense to have skipped March.
