Seibertron Henshin! Tokusatsu Discussion Thread
Re: Seiberton Henshin! Tokusatsu Discussion Thread
It's even worse than Samurai Ha-Oh: Most of Bison King just hangs off his butt, serving no purpose whatsoever. But it is an interesting concept. A person piloting a mech, piloting a mech, piloting a mech.

The worst part is that you don't actually need Bison King to make it work. Sure he'll be weaponless, but the trade-off is a good one.

Forgot to post this, there's going to be another set of auxiliary mecha for the Ninninger's to use. Gekiatsu Dai Oh!

We got:
HouhouMaru (Phoenix) - AkaNinger
GenbuMaru (Turtle) - KiNinger
Seiryuu Maru (Dragon)- AoNinger
ByakkoMaru (White Tiger) - ShiroNinger
PandaMaru (Panda) - MomoNinger
MagoiMaru (Black Carp) - StarNinger
First thoughts: FINALLY, a koi zord!

Re: Seiberton Henshin! Tokusatsu Discussion Thread
it looks a bit odd, but we'll see how it works on screen.
it's been a while since we had a secondary main robot for the entire team, with each member having their own component: gekifire or daivoyager were the last ones.

Not positive, is this the first one to have an auxiliary mech for all six rangers?

First one I can think of.
Shuriken Ha-Oh or whatever looks.... okay. Better than Samurai Ha-Oh, if only barely. It looks like you can get the best effect by leaving Bisonmaru's torso off of it and just using the leg-guns. Articulation is incredibly simple, but it's an ultrazord, so that's to be expected. If I was a kid I'd be all over this thing. Even as an adult I love the idea of a person piloting a small robot piloting a bigger robot.... which now is piloting an EVEN BIGGER robot. It's like Gurren Lagann but not as hot-blooded.

Ultraman X's first episode is available on YouTube, no subtitles, but still, liking the look and feel of this series better then the previous two. Well, as much as I can without knowing a damn word they're saying.
Positives:
Loved the travel sphere fight at the very beginning, very nice to see that again, also nice to see an Ultra from space and not from some legend on earth, with no real backstory (Ginga fighting Darker Gale, Victory guarding the Victorian civilization, etc.).
Loved the news videos of the classic Kaiju attacking around the world.
Suits are really cool looking, nice to see some armor and not just fancy jackets.
Finally a female member of the team that kicked the ass of some other people (wish it reflected her behavior in the field.)
Finally, an original new monster with basic fire abilities. If they pulled out another older monster with some new details as X's first fight, I was gonna punch something.
Loved, loved, LOVED seeing the perspective of the user, especially the bit where he saw how high up he was.
Argument between the Ultra and host was great to hear, hoping we get a unique personality from this Ultra.
The finisher was bloody fantastic looking.
Negatives:
Beginning and ending themes left a lot to desired.
The jet leaves a LOT to be desired, I miss the unique jets of Max and Nexus, plus, a flying car.
Seemed odd that the team had to consider backing up X, I mean, in this universe, they've already seen multiple Ultra's defend humanity, I think by this point it'd be an automatic response: See an Ultraman, help it.
Overall, really impressed!

Indeed the first. Usually the Sixth Ranger has his own dedicated mech throughout the series, but never a secondary mech. A case can be made for ShinkenGold as he owns two: Ika and Ebi Origamim, both standalone mechs (auxiliary and main respectively). This would also be the first time a 6-piece Stage 1 combo is made (as in, no combos with less pieces is possible).
Gekiatsu Dai-Oh looks promising, but Ha-Oh Gekiatsu Dai-Oh... Nothing to write home about.

More ghostly news!
Sounds good to me, although 15 forms is pushing it, but hey, OOOs had way more combos/forms then any other rider to date.
Product listings have revealed several of Ghost's new forms
Ghost Change Series Gimmick Figures
GC01 Kamen Rider Ghost Ore Soul (October) 3456 yen
GC02 Ghost Musashi Soul & Edison Soul set (October) 2700 yen
GC03 Kamen Rider Spectre (November) 3456 yen
GC04 Ghost Robin Soul & Billy the Kid Soul set (November) 2808 yen
GC05 Ghost Tutankhamun Soul & Nobunaga Soul set (December) 2700 yen
GC06 Ghost Beethoven Soul & Benkei Soul set (December) 2700 yen
Combining Sacred Beast” DX Iguana Ghostriker (November) 5400 yen
A secondary rider? Enter Specter!

And the Ghostriker? Well, I thought Dandeliners and Tulip Hoppers were Kivatsh*t crazy.

More pics have revealed a nice detail shot of Ghost and a look at him with the hood down:

Edison Soul has been revealed, and while I was dreading the idea of a lightbulb based rider, WOW, they made this look damn good.

Robin Soul is Robin hood based, but all I'm getting is a Wizard hurricane form vibe:

And an unknown Eyecon with what appears to be a LOT of blades. Not positive on the historical figure, but my money is on Musashi Soul.
Kamen Rider Ghosts’ real name is Tekuuji Takeru, a young man training to be a Ghost Hunter who receives the Ore Eyecon from his (supposedly deceased) father.
*When trying to protect the Eyecon, Takeru is killed by a Ganma– a monster from another world! In order to protect others from the Ganma, Takeru is given a secondary life and- by using the Eyecon with the Ghost Driver– is reborn as a Kamen Rider!
*Once reborn, Takeru must travel the world to collect the Eyecons of 15 Great Men in 99 Days, to earn one wish. But along the way, Takeru finds himself in a war that may change the fate of the entire world…

I'm a fan of Power Rangers/Super Sentai and Kamen Rider and such. the only theme of these heroes I'm not really a fan of are the ones that are based on vehicles. But whatever. It's to attract kids. But some themes can be ridiculous and I'm surprised they haven't used a theme that's based on a sport yet. And if they do, IT WAS MY IDEA. PAY ME!

IIRC, though there haven't been any sport-based themes before, there have been some sport-based techniques. Off the top of my hear, Gorenger had both the soccer-based "Gorenger Storm" and the football-based "Gorenger Hurricane" techniques, and Gaoranger/Wild Force had Gaosilver/Lunar Wolf Ranger's billiards-based techinque, GaoRhinos/Rhino Zord and GaoMadillo/Armadillo Zord's soccer-base technique, and GaoMadillo/Armadillo Zord by itself wielded by hand for a bowling technique or with the Gator Staff for another billiards-based technique.Wigglez wrote:I'm a fan of Power Rangers/Super Sentai and Kamen Rider and such. the only theme of these heroes I'm not really a fan of are the ones that are based on vehicles. The Kakurangers also had their "Kakuranger Ball" technique, and magiranger featured a set of magical boxing gloves, initially used by Magiyellow (who boxed in his free time and had become a pro boxer by the time of Boukengers' VS. Super Sentai teamup-movie). Also, the Hurricanegers featured hanggliders.

Benkei. He's based on Musashibo Benkei, while Musashi Soul is based on Miyamoto Musashi. Aren't you glad I can read Japanese

So the Transformation Items are called Eyecons (nice job on keeping the pun) and Forms are called Souls. Interesting story, would he be considered "undead"? No, I'm not talking about Blade here...

So the Transformation Items are called Eyecons (nice job on keeping the pun) and Forms are called Souls. Interesting story, would he be considered "undead"? No, I'm not talking about Blade here...
Thanks for the translation!I'm no expert on Japanese history, so thanks for the direction on the basis for the forms.
Eh, never saw the full episodes, skipped to the theme (one of my favorite Japanese intro themes in Transformers) and the final fights, 'cause it was like Transformers + Kamen Rider.

That's too bad. Both of them were kind of cool in that they each confronted the Predacons on their own, human vs. TF.Madeus Prime wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Both Benkei and Musashi were also guest characters in episodes of Sanjou Gattai Transformers Go!.Madeus Prime wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Benkei. Am I the only one who thinks that they should've kept bringing more than Super Sentai to the U.S.? There were Beatleborgs, VR Troopers, and 2 Kamen Rider shows. But that's about it. I think they should at least bring Kamen Rider W over
