The Gundam Thread

Oh, also, while I want to mostly have only Build Fighters stuff in 1/144th scale, I wanna have an RX-78-2, Wing, and Exia in that scale for a separate display and to mess with. I'm looking at the HG RX-78-2 Revive and the HG Wing, but would the RG Exia clash with them?

I wouldn't have thought so as the rg just offers more details but that would only be noticeable if you really got up close to look. Also if I recall correctly, it's been a while since wing has had mg attention, you could track down the wing zero version ka, I want that myself at one point as it's a beautiful kit, obviously not show accurate though.

I'm looking to get the MG Proto Zero, but I'd like the standard Wing to be show accurate. And looking again, there is one from 2010 that fits the criteria...

It means it was designed by Hajime Katoki (well actually redesigned) he's a big name in mobile suit design having being the one who designed all the main mobile suits in the gundam wing ova, Endless Waltz. Basically you know the wing zero with the angel wings? That's his work.

I've been looking at some RGs (Exia, OO Raiser, and 00 Qan[T]), and...dear god, how the hell are you supposed to build these things? The parts and stickers are so tiny...!

That's why they are Real Grade, the Perfect Grades are just as fickle but at a larger scale and price point (with electronics!). I wouldn't mind trying some of them but I'm more than happy with high grade at that scale.
Oh, have you heard that gundam 00 is getting another anime in honour of its 10th anniversary? No word yet on whether it's a series, movie or OVA.

I heard! Apparently there's gonna be a stage play too? No idea how that would work.
As for RGs, I'd love to stick with High Grades as well, but the HG Exia is...not great. And if I'm gonna get an RG Exia, might as well get the 00 and Qan[T] in the same grade right?
...and seriously, building tips...?

Building tips for the RG? Patience. Oh and tweezers and a standing magnifying glass (you can get these in most hobby shops and they come with two adjustable clips so they can hold something for you). Are you using anything to file down the marks you're left with after freeing the pieces from their sprue prison?

Not really, I just cut them down as best I can with the knife. I'm looking to get cutting pliers or whatever they're called. I'm okay with visible marks, just not nubs...

It's 14.9 x 18.8 x 4.5 cm so in inches that's 5.8 x 7.4 x 1.7 inch. It doesn't say what scale it is though, and yes that lifelike haro is going to be expensive, and will probably still sell well

Well, my Action Base 1 showed up yesterday. Finally.
After a night of reflection, I can firmly say I'll be getting an Action Base 4.

Is there any way to connect the arm from an Action Base 2 to an MG? Haven't had any luck so far.

There should have been an adapter that went on the arm, can't help more though as I'm using the bases that came with the models themselves, so I've only bought action base 1's

Finally got to and finished up Blue Frame. He was the biggest pain to put together, but the results are well worth it! I love how his hips, shoulders, and head antennae can become swords, as can the isangard pineapple things on his jet pack.
Of the 3 Gundam I have, Barbatos was the most fun to put together, Quant has the best weapon, and Blue Frame may be my favorite overall

Looking good d-max! Love that blue frame design, it suits in quite well (although it was always red frame's pilot who thought himself a swordsman with his giant katana
)

A quick search has yielded only an add on kit by a 3rd party company though there is a rg 1/144 scale kit for the quant gundam. Though interestingly I've also found pictures of a mg full saber but there's no writeup to say if it's the normal master grade with the add on or a full kit brought out by Bandai.
