Yeah but his IDW vehicle mode looks NOTHING like a car.

Blurrz managed to capture the IDW feel while TFCC went for G1. Personally, I like blurrz's custom over the exclusive, but I would strongly perfer a massed released figure that really captures his IDW self.
Hasbro did a great job with the other Thrilling 30's deluxes, I don't see why the wouldn't be able to do a decent Chromedome.

This looks awesome, Chromedome was the main one I was waiting for, although I really want Rewind and Barricade as well. I just signed up for the TFCC so I guess now all I have to do is wait till they open up the sub service? Anyone know when that will be?

Whoa, that looks a LOT like Transtech Cheetor:

I actually modified how I transform my TFC Animated Cheetor to make his alt mode look kinda like that. I detach the shield piece that forms the hood and have it connected to the back of his head underneath the rear of the car, leaving 2 separate fenders with wheels on the front and a gap in between.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.

Well, I'm a bit lukewarm on this, but I really do want an official Chromedome toy and an official Rewind toy that can... uh, do more than stand up perfectly straight. Those two are the biggest reasons I'm getting the service this year (instead of just getting figures a la carte, as I did with Scourge).
That said, I can't think of a mode that would've worked better, and the headsculpt is quite nice.

Have to say colors are spot on, IMHO. The comics depict lighting on the figures. (Sometimes dim lighting, sometimes brighter.) You can't base a toy on the blown out pastel colors of a comic. Makes the toy look like it should be in a little girl's baby buggy with a bonnet on it. Wugh. G1 rich colors for the win.

Seibertron.com News Admin El Duque is in Dallas attending Joe Con 2014 where he was able to snap a few pictures of the head sculpts from upcoming Transformers Collectors' Club exclusive figures on display. From the TFSS 2.0 we have head sculpts of Chromdome, Rewind and Thrustinator. Also on display is the head sculpt of Protoform X which is the 2014 incentive figure for joining the Transformers Collectors' Club.

Re: Transformers collectors club previews
The sculpts look great, but because I usually expect prototypes/test-shots to be white or grey, this color just gives me the weird idea that FunPub's hard work tragically suffered the fastest-acting case of photodegradation in history.
And even though I know why it has to be so small, X's severed head just don't look right next to Waspinust's. It's making me real impatient to see them attached to something.
And since Joe's in the topic's title, I may as well mention this here: while my regular rounds of Livonia-area 5-Belows turned up no new TFs, I did notice Joe Retaliation figures have finally (inevitably) shown up. I didn't see Lady Jaye, but some of the others (like Firefly-with-go-kart) I thought were in her case for some reason. Is she shortpacked, or are there any other scarce ones I should look out for?

They did give it its own toyline. That's what the Generations Thrilling 30 line currently is.MINDVVIPE wrote:They all look great. Damnit, they should just give IDW its own toyline already so we don't need to pay heaps for repaints. I want new moulds!
The fact that IDW G1 Chromedome is only being made this way means that Hasbro has no interest in giving us a proper IDW G1 Chromedome toy, so Fun Pub is giving us the next best thing.

No it isn't. The Thrilling 30 is intended to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the brand. There may be IDW characters in it, but it is not an IDW line.
Unless I missed those issues with the BH Platinum Ultra Magnus and the Constructobots BH Predaking in them, since those are both of them are officially numbered Thrilling 30 releases. The Generations packages say "Thrilling 30" on them, but figures like Sandstorm and FoC Grimlock haven't been in the comics. So, to say that the line is the IDW line is not very correct.

I said the Generations Thrilling 30 line. "Thrilling 30" on its own has a much broader meaning like what you said. The portion of the Generations toyline that utilizes the "Thrilling 30" sublabel commemorates the 30th anniversary by acting as a vehicle outlet for toys based on the IDW G1 comics, which comics themselves are likewise commemorating the anniversary.Dagon wrote:No it isn't. This does little to prove me wrong. I myself said that FoC Grimlock is not a Thrilling 30 toy, nor an IDW toy. I also know that Magnus and Contructo Predaking aren't Generations toys. I said that they weren't as well. You are the one saying that Thrilling 30 and Generations are IDW toys, not me.
And, you said
Sabrblade wrote:They did give it its own toyline. That's what the Generations Thrilling 30 line currently is.
Which means that the Generations line is the IDW line. That's what that statement means. You didn't say closest thing to or whatever you're saying now.
In the long run I don't care, and I'm not trying to make something out of this. I'm having a hard time believing I'm baiting someone by pointing out that Generations Thrilling 30 is not an IDW specific line when there are figures that fit either the Thrilling 30 or Generations alone that are not IDW-based toys, like Sandstorm, Grimlock, and others.
But, you know.

I'm not talking about the entire Generations line, only the current phase of it:
Phase 1 - War for Cybertron
Phase 2 - "Classics-style"
Phase 3 - Fall of Cybertron
Phase 4 - Thrilling 30
The stuff that came before the Thrilling 30 phase of the Generations line is superfluous to what I'm referring to. The exact words I used were "Generations Thrilling 30". Not "Generations" alone, not "Thrilling 30" alone, but "Generations Thrilling 30", which is a specific group of figures within the greater line. Not once did I say that every Generations and every Thrilling 30 toy is for IDW. Only those released in the "Generations Thrilling 30" line-within-a-line.
Honestly, how is it so difficult to understand what I'm referring to?
And why do you keep bringing up Grimlock when he was a Generations Fall of Cybertron figure and not a Generations Thrilling 30 figure?

Apologies in advance. I'm argumentative.

Even if we stick to "Generations Thrilling 30" we have several non-IDW toys in that line. Oddly, mostly voyagers: Sandstorm, Blitzwing, Doubledealer, Rhinox, Whirl (yes, Whirl is a prominent IDW character, but the Generations toy is arguably more a G1 homage)...
I would say they're more or less IDW-styled. That's a fair assertion to make.

Sabrblade, it should have been clear that what I meant was a line dedicated to giving us IDW figures. I read the comics and definitely know that many recent generations/thrilling 30 figures are IDW representations (with slight changes), but we do not have a Chromedome that looks like an IDW Chromedome. If it was a line focused on IDW like how TF Prime had their own toyline, do you believe they would have the new character be a repaint of an older one? That is like if they introduced the Prime Wheeljack figure and he was just a repaint of Classics Sunstreaker.
All I'm saying is that it would be sweet to have a line dedicated to IDW, meaning everyone from Fort Max to rung get figures with no shortcuts in repaints from Hasbro or funpub or whoever.
