I've seen a few attempts to work Transformers into 40k, and this a lot less ambitious than most of them, and my hands are not steady enough to paint as sharply as I'd like, but I'm still pretty happy with how this turned out. I have a play ready 100pt Adeptus Astartes Killteam, with three Primaris Intercessors and three Primaris Reivers who are more than meets the eye.
Also, prototypes for another maybe-someday project:
Warhammer 40k (Autobot) Killteam

Yeah, when I thought to do it I figured there was a good chance they'd look either goofy or unrecognizable. Instead I think the Space Marine armor slides right into that happy medium of looking like Pretender Shell armor, but in a good way. I think as toys you could also get away with a lot if you accepted the inner bot sticking out the back to form the backpacks.
Fantastic idea and they look damn good man!
Thanks!
Also, opinions on the Tyranids?
I think I like the look of the fully painted carapace (back, head, arms, and legs) over having only the ventral carapace (back and head) painted, but I can't decide whether black chitin on purple skin or purple chitin on black skin looks better/more Insecticon-like.
And I think the gold looks good on the back of that one, but there needs to be less of it, like across the shoulders only?
