I wonder what caused the 'error'? It is a 20% savings. Were TFs on sale 20% off? Hmmm...

When I found my MP TC last week I wanted to use some kind of TRU coupon, but there were none to be had. For some reason, I have not been getting TRU rewards member coupons. Probably due to spam filter or i changed my mail preferences (which i now regret). To correct this, I've added tru's email to my address book.

A friend of mine hooked me up yesterday since i was not getting the coupons and forwarded me a BOGO 75% off Star wars toys. I bought the new speederbike & scout set -2 for <$30 including tax. Normal price $48 w/tax. Can't complain there. My friend will get the other 1 w/discounted price of course.

Struck out at the first TRU today, at the second I found one hidden behind some other items on the bottom shelf. Unfortunetly, I had my wife with me at the second store and she gave me a look like I was out of my mind. She pointed out that I already had the Takara version, and I didn't need to waste the money on a second. I ended up putting him back.

The local TRU is dead to me, as far as exclusives are concerned.

I just hope Takara is planning to release Thundercracker and Skywarp later. It's probably the only way I'll get these two.

It's back up on the TRU site. I just ordered mine yesterday.

Also, the Hasbro versions are on Ebay all the time. I got Skywarp for $60, still in the box.

At the Times Sq location in NY, there were a bunch, counted at least 11. They were placed in a higher shelf section (prob to deter little kids from destroying the boxes). Last week, there were 2 full shelves of them. They've made a practice of removing MP from shelves during weekends. Best time to get is Mon-Tues as the store restocks right after their morning employee huddle. Hopefully you guys can get them like I did. Limit 1/person/day so I had to go through multiple trips on multiple days (needed bot and alt version for display and some for friends). Managed to snag 4 and even after that see pic below. It's $69.99 at Times Sq. I had save a screenshot of the TRU promo when it was $55. The clerk thought it was the actual website and made the adjustment.

BBTS is around $119 shipped (US).

There are plenty of listings that finish below that on ebay. I mean I would rather support BBTS as well but cheapest price gets my money.

BBTS is a business, has a license, and doesn't purchase products from a retail outlet to re-sell to consumers at a marked up price. Everything they sell that doesn't come second hand from people selling/trading in their own toys to them comes from actual wholesalers.

That's the difference. BBTS doesn't shorten the retail supply of an item in order to fill their own warehouses to sell the product for a profit.

Besides why wouldn't you want to support a business that caters to us!

I could be wong but since this figure is exclusive to TRU the only way for BBTS to obtain stock is to send their staff/buyers into the local stores or stalk TRU.com. So some of these "scalpers" might be from BBTS or other web stores that are carrying this item. If I was still looking to purchase I would feel no loyalty to BBTS (altho I have given them plenty of my money over the years) just where I can get it the cheapest. Everyone is out to make a buck, including BBTS.
