I think I read the Mega Man 2 book about a million times. I wasn't big into reading when I was a kid, so these were a pretty good thing for me. I even found a little article about the author of these books, FX NINE!! :P , at 1up.com. Share your nostalgia, if you like.

I'd read the Metal Gear one, just to see how wrong it was made by Kojima.

Kojima's rendition of Solid Snake and the Metal Gear saga is just a tad different. :P As I recall, the character in the novel was named Justin Halley, but I don't remember much about his persona—though I thought the story followed the game true to form.

Of course. NES games are the easiest to adapt, because while there IS a story, graphical limitations at the time, as well as limited storage space made it harder to tell a good story. Most of the story was told in the instruction manual, and even then, future entries were more than likely to disrupt that. (Such as Metal Gear Solid, MegaMan X, Legend of Zelda: OoT, every Castlevania game since Koji Igarashi took over, etc.)
