Display stand for Unicron?
I was watching Bikertrashwolf's review of unicron and he said that he'd seen someone make a stand that helps you display Unicron in movie mode (rather than Saturn like if you stand him up the only way you can). Does anyone know what he's talking about?

Unicron.com mass produced them.
They look awesome, and display Unicron nicely, but the mast of the stand breaks easy, and you'll still need to balance him against a wall or something or else it won't stay. Any vibration will make him topple!
I have a couple so I know.
Does great with TidalWave though!

Here's a link, but it's sold out, they restock these often though.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the responses. Looks like I might have to have one metalworked for me based on the original design. That should hold a bit better. Really there's no other way to display Unicron than in his aggressive I'm-going-to-eat-you-now mode

I had the same problem, even after gluing the black post per their recommendations.

Sounds like the stand is terrible and not worth the $$$. Maybe if it was $3.00 but not for $15 plus shipping.
If you buy a display stand that is specifically made for a figure, it should work without toppling over, breaking, or needing to be balanced against the wall.
time to custom design!

Looks like he has fishing line going up through those eye hooks going into the wall.

oops, sorry, I lost track of this one.
Yeah, it's a nylon thread pulled through the strategic positions up to the hooks. I taped it off in a few spots to avoid indents in Unicron himself.

Mine's on a big picture hook in the bedroom. A very sturdy one in a very strong wall, I don't recommend just anything.

Thanks for this info.
I was looking at getting this stand but the neg comments steered me away.
I'd rather make my own than waste $$ on one that won't hold up.

The only part you would need to "metal work" is the rod that connects to the base. And thats rather easy, get a metal rod, and put the rod on a laithe and just turn down both ends so you have the right size pegs to fit in the holes. And voila you have a good unicron stand simply from adding your own part to the unicron.com kit. Thats what I did and it stands it perfectly, without any worries of the plastic flexing or the toy falling.Bonecrusher27 wrote:Thanks guys! Appreciate the responses.
