Galvatron versus Megatron / Classics Galvatron

Postby videriant » Thu Sep 06, 2007 5:34 pm

First question. When did Hasbro swap megatron's silver/black color scheme with galvatron's purple? Restating my question. Megatron was originally silver/black and turned purple in G1. When did Megatron start being purple and Galvatron being silver/black (like in Cybertron and other lines I've seen)?

Second question. Anybody know what Galvatron is going to look like in the classics 2.0?

Motto: "Collecting little transforming action figures is the right of all sentient Geeks."
Weapon: Indepentently Targetable Particle Beam Cannons
1. They've been doing it for years now. Since Galvatron was the recreated body of Megatron by Unicron. Hasbro realized it was a repaint heaven for them. So all Megatrons since R.I.D. have been re-colored into Galvatrons.

2.Nope, unfortunately Hasbro hasn't shown anything regarding Galvy. not even sketches. AFAIK. So your guess is as good as ours

Um. Classics Megatron(I assume you're talking about the Voyager figure) is mostly white in robot mode. And most of the other colors are a result of US toy regulation laws regarding toy guns. Besides, I remember Galvatron as being mostly blue, at least in the cartoon.

I haven't personally seen any prototypes for Galvatron in 2.0. I have my fingers crossed that a space gun will not be subjected to the same regulations as a regular gun.

it's been said a few times that Classics 2.0 will NOT be a Megatron repaint. And I like the Purple on Megatron.

More of a light purple blue... Periwinkle I believe is the correct name. But uh, yeah that doesn't help with the whole ballet theme.

Well, there you have it.

My memory is notoriously shotty. :? Maybe I was thinking of Cyclonus, another mold I would like to see in 2.0. He was blue wasn't he?

Eh... he was also a purple shade. Scourge, the real Scourge, was blue.

You know, Cyclonus and Scourge would make decent additions to the cast for TF2. Especially if Megatron came back reformatted as Galvatron fused with the All Spark's power and seeking revenge.
