I treat 'em like toys I hardly ever touch. One in a while I do something stupid and break some minor but important thing. Just like when I was a kid. It'd be nostalgic if it wasn't so aggrivating. I tend to transform them a lot when I first get 'em, but stop after a bit.
What I really like to do though is arrange a select few in different ways to make a really nice display. I only have one display area that's viewable (the rest are either away or all bunched together behind a closed space), so this is a once-in-a-while thing I like to do.
I never dust 'em tho. Mostly because I'm lazy and never dust period. I keep most of the boxes, but that's mostly because I'm slightly obsessive and not for any collection reasons.
My favorite .... I really can't say. Maybe Masterpiece Prime and Megs taken together as a set. Most of the ones in my collections are TFs I'm fond of tho.

I transformer my new ones once or twice, then leave them in bot mode. My g1, i dont really transform them, and they all get left in alt mode as most bot modes suck, except combiners, they do their thing.
Alternators are mostly in bot mode, unlesst hey are horrible bot modes or i have duplicates, then into alt mode they go
I dont do thek eep in box thing anymore, that's part of the reason I got out of collecting Transformers, and other things, was that it was always just ONE view.. the front of the package.. I liket o see it all, like to move them around in displays.
I just cant have alot of transformers or im gona lose that ability to look at my displays and not have to guess whos who cuz i have so many.. lol

Mine are all MISB and I display them in a glass case, I buy only one of each and won't sell them, they will be the property of my son in about 10 years. In a fire ill try to grab all my Starscreams (my favorite Transformer), but if I could only take one, ill grab my TRU reissue Starscream my girlfriend bought for me.

In a roaring fire you better get your @$$ out... no toy is worth your body being damaged. Get insurance if you are worried about that.
However, I do treat my TFs well. They are after all, my hobby, and one of my passions. They don't get played with much. Displays sometimes get moved, but rarely. Some I rarely touch, I just want to look at them.
I like what CP said about inspiration. They can be at times...
