OK, head anxiety calmed
That looks so freakin sweet it cant come soon enough. If it does look that good in hand maybe Herc really is going on the "lost and folorn toys that just don't fit anymore" shelf.
This IS the Classics Devy Hasblo will never get around to and I wont ever need another.
Now make Menasor MTC. I double dare ya..........

I don't see the scredriver "swords" in this release. That's probably the extra bits.
I saw those bits in some pics on the back of Giant & also in the dump bed of Dump Truck. I can't see them leaving those pieces out because they attach to the forearm pieces to form jackhammers for two of the bots to use.

Currently searching for Cybertron Supreme Starscream & G2 Go-Bots Megatron, Complete at good prices. PM if you can help please.

wow, an articulated face? IMO it doesn't really work, but props to Maketoys for doing it nonetheless. I am glad that the 'standard' head is included as well. Exciting times.

I'm kinda ticked off that the green version got so many big upgrades. Oh well.

The more I see, the more excited I get. I keep waffling on selling Hercules. I simply can't commit one way or the other. I think my girl is getting tired of hearing me talk about it. I can't blame her. See, this is damn near exactly what I wanted all along for Classics.

I was under the impression that the extra accessories were supposed to come with the Green set, and the only thing special about the yellow set was it being limited.

That^^, although what Limited and Unlimited mean on short-run hyper expensive thrid party products like these is not clear. Yet.

I see they also added articulation to Mobile Crane's hook, which is nice. It will be interesting to compare these two sets when I have Type 61 in-hand. Looks like there are many small upgrades/differences.

I feel a bit sorry for the guys who bought Yellow. It's like they are beta testers. They expose all the QC issues and improvements etc and they get implemented on Green.

I don't mind that the yellow set has a few quirks and fewer "exclusive features". I wasn't planning on getting it until I saw just how amazing Devastator looked in yellow. THAT's the special feature. The only thing that would bother me at this point would be to see a rerelease of the yellow set with all the upgrades. However, if Maketoys never touches it again, then I'm more than pleased.

I have Yellow and it's an amazing toy - none of the tweeks discussed above matter that much overall to it's awesomeness on my Classics shelf.......I'm glad I got it anotherwords.

I'd have to agree, I absolutely love my yellow Giant and don't regret getting him at all, as I liked the yellow much better than the green, and the biggest upgrade the green Giant seems to have gotten is the removable crane, which doesn't bother me much anyway. I was just a little bummed out that there were so many tweaks.

The removable crane should have been a given from the get-go.

Hmm... is it me, or does it look like the new, removable crane cannot be folded down to fit flatter against Devistator's back like the crane on Yellow Giant could? Unfortunate if that is the case, as I thought that was a nice feature to make the figure more shelf-friendly. But if that was a compromise that had to be made to make the crane removable, I'll take it, as a removable crane sure as hell helps Hook's individual robot mode.

Re: Maketoys Green Giant (Type 61)
While I don't have the yellow set, it just appears to be a very well-hidden joint. If you look closely at the underside of the crane arm, you can tell the gear that holds the joint together is still there. If you look at the picture of the crane-mode you can see the tab is still up there and that it's holding 2 separate sections together. Unless the joint is glued shut for some crazy reason, I'm pretty sure it'll still fold down. It looks like they've added tabs on the top & bottom so the gun barrel halves can peg on. The bottom location appears to help keep his crane-club from from folding when fully extended.
That's all I can tell by the photos anyway.

Re: Maketoys Green Giant (Type 61)
Wow, just got this today.... Totally amazing!!!!!
I think the new rage head is really really growing on me, actually I think I would like buy another and paint the forehead silver so it looks even more G1 than the original head.
I wonder if they would ever sell them separately?

Just shipped my loot with green Giant. Can't wait to get him!!!
However, it's too bad he won't have a permanent home for another 4-5 months while our home is being built.

Slowly making my way through the set. They're great stuff. I really like these over Hercules. By a large margin at that.
