Music Score Different from Film?
I've just received my TF Score but didn't have time to give it a listen as I left home. However I saw some asterisks remarking "different version in film" or something. For those who have it, please tell me that doesn't mean that it's different from what we heard in the film, especially the Autobots arrival on earth scene. The only reason why I bought the score. I know some movie soundtracks, for whatever reason, try to be a bit too clever, and diminish the reason why people buy soundtracks in the first place.

Yeah the songs marked with asterisks are just longer on the score than they were in the actual movie.
It's not a bad thing at all!

Yup you guys are right. Have listened to the score twice now. It's great! I was worried that they'd do stupid things, say shorten tracks, even have it play in a different key, etc. Nothing like that at all. Love this soundtrack!

Just a question: I don't seem to be able to find the music from when Barricade attacks and gives chase to Bumblebee after BB rescues Sam and Micaela. Which track is it?

I think that was one of those tracks that comes off the album and was done instrumentally. It's like the Goo-Goo Dolls song is only instrumental in the scene where Mikeala and Sam are riding in BB after their fight with Barricade and Frenzy.

I know what you mean about the 'arrival to earth' track. Just brilliant.
I ended up watching that scene so many times in the movie and loving the music that now when I listen to the score I really miss the sound that Ratchet makes. Twice in that scene he makes his siren warble for just a second, I heard it so much that now when I listen to just the score I still hear that Ratchet siren in my head at those 2 parts, lol.

I think you're right, because the song was not really orchestral like the rest of the Score. Only a few songs from the actual Soundtrack made it into the film, even if you include the songs used in the credits...

Exactly! Many times you hear a piece of soundtrack from the film, the experience comes from many things, not just the music but other movie sounds as well. That's lost in the soundtrack. I'm thinking of getting an audio out cable to make my own recording of that entire arrival scene with the sounds I like, transformation sounds, Ratchet's sirens, engine noise... (Although I wish there was a way to get rid of that fatty swearing to God about how much cooler this was than Armageddon)
