She was a real trailblazer. I recall her story of how Dr. Martin Luther King convinced her to stay on Star Trek despite all the hate she was getting.
There was her song early in the show with Spock playing the lute. She even brought the first Tribble on board the Enterprise.
RIP Commander Nyota Uhura. We'll keep those hailing frequencies open.
