Awesome thread, Skywarp-2.

I think the macromasters one looks a bit too much like a perceptor ripoff in alt mode.

CD Scattershot is crying out to be made into Megatron, those pics look awesome.

But best of all would be a Hearts of Steel cannon Megs.

And why oh why couldn't movie megs have ended up like that early design pic!!???!!!

Thanks!! Yeah I wouldn't have minded a Megatron in turret and like the grey tank that would have been perfect... instead of Nerfatron and that wierd G-2 ish looking tank.. geez..

Yep thats the guy. I saw him browsing through the toy galeries here and well i didnt twig that it was actually the beast wars guy (i was aware of but never really saw any of the newer shows). but still with that grey colouring and big gun on his shoulder he had me thinking original megs

That movie prototype megatron is really sweet and like you say completely workable as a toy.

I dont think you'll ever get your perfect megatron though. A lot of what makes transformers great are the "hints" you can see in robot mode and a lot of what makes g1 megatron megatron comes from these hints. His boots, his chest, His blaster and you could even argue his helmet too. Any new alt mode for megs will need new hints.
