You do not understand either the situation or what I have written. My only beef with your statement is that you wrote that a person just doing his job should be ashamed of himself. What right do you have to say that. It doesnt matter what toy we are talking about, your statement is really infantile and shows a great lack of understanding. I can get people being ticked off at Hasbro for making a product that has no inherent worth to anyone, but telling off some guy just doing his job, seriously what is wrong with you? And the guy you are telling off didnt come up with the three steps, or choose to make them over something else. Hasbro had 3 steps and needed takara to enginer them as they always do. And takara gave the job to the guy who makes MPs, showing that they care about quality for any line. And this guy is proud of the transformation he came up with given what he was told to do. Thats it. Thats all I meant.
My thinking that this designer is taking a step down in making a 3-step figure vs. Masterpiece figures does nothing to harm him, or his career. He's ensconced in his job, and my opinions do not jeapordize his work in any way. You are writing and reacting as if my notion that making 3 step figures is beneath his dignity has in some way harmed or diminished him. That was not the case, but if you came to that conclusion, for what it's worth, my apologies that you took it the wrong way. You ought to interpret it as a compliment to his skill that people out there are of the opinion that his work is so good that he could be more selective.
I can only point out that most serious collectors just don't like the 3 step figures. And I specifically don't care for the entire RiD line, or the show. No matter who designs the RiD figures, even if they were made by Leonardo Da Vinci himself. I just don't care for them. I think the Generations/Combiner Wars line blows the socks off RiD. That's not something that can be quantified from person to person. A line can be made by top notch designers, have excellent manufacturing quality, have a great corresponding TV show - but sometimes the public will look at it and say it's just not FUN. Where I live, you can't find hardly any CW figures on the shelf, and RiD seems to have the primary focus of retailers. I admit, as a fan of CW, I resent that RiD seems to be crowding them out.
I think RiD a step down from TF Prime, I have made no bones about it, and said so on previous occasions. I don't like the line any more than I like the Bayverse movies or figures. But I feel the need to point out that I have not presented my views in any way that was vulgar, crass or in any manner that would otherwise break the rules for posting in these forums. I have not personally attacked or hounded anyone, unless I was insulted first. If you think my views are 'infantile' and there is 'something wrong' with me, then make your case to the webmaster. But I think you will be hard pressed to find any conduct in any of my past posts that would be considered fair grounds for banning me.
