As for the coronation gear, I would be patient. It is only a matter of time till some customizer starts mass producing a set and throwiong it on ebay for 50 big ones.

Isnt that the truth, I bet Justitoys is already toiling away at their MP Screamer Coronation Kit.

I love them for doing it to, you and I are whores for custom add ons Bonger.

God, Iron Maniac is too. Every time I think I'm the only one here with some custom, he pops up with a pic of his, lol.

Well if you got a jeweler to design a SS crown then you would be one hardcore custom whore.

Dammit, now you have me thinking about it, I happen to have an extra coronation crown from Cybertron Screamer....maybe...a jeweler could use it as a template...Nonono.

Actually, I put up a post about a jeweler making a crown, scepter and shoulder pads, like 7 months ago. A velevet cape could then be attached to the pads. I figured it would be cheaper if a bunch of us got together and ordered something like that. There were no takers at the time, but, maybe time to look into it again?

We would pool together to buy one? Bonger has it mondays and wednesdays, Iron Maniac has it tuesdays and thursdays, Sid Burn gets it Fridays and Saturdays and sundays are decided by instant messenger rock scissor paper? :-?

Yes, APPARENTLY indeed.

I have yet to see that for sure. Every photo I've seen of this figure (us or japanese) has had the weathering. Tough to tell the differences so far.

I think I read somewere that the Takkara version will be the same as the Walmart one, and that Tak is planning on making another one after Thundercracker that has no weathering.

And I think that is like well totally stupid.

So there'll be three Takara Starscreams? And when was Thundercracker confirmed?

Wasn't he confirmed to be aether MP 7 or 8?
or am I confused once again?

Here is the skinny.

I just got confirmation from Fan2Fan that USA TAkara Anime Starscream has been postponed till 2008.

TFW just posted a rumor that MP07 will be Red Spider (Starscream color matching version).

Sounds to me like the repackaged US version got a change to become a more exclusive Takara Masterpiece release. This is my speculation but it sounds about right.

MP-03 didn't sell very well in Japan due to the poopy colors obviously. I have had reports from friends in Japan that since the movie was out TF's are becoming much more popular. So the switch to making another masterpiece may have been made just recently.

It wasnt just the colors in Japan; it was also the quality... read the reviews on the Japanese web sites.

But the news at TFW completely contradicts previous rumors of soundwave or grimlock

I like the sound of the two pack for mp8...i've been wanting to pick up another megs for alt mode, and i only have the dvd version of prime.

all these MP rumors making me 8-} i wish they would just make an official announcement already

What rumours? There was a lot of "I'd like to see..." and "They should make ..." going on, but there weren't actual rumours.

I'd like to see Justitoys do some coronation gear. Then I wouldn't have to buy another Starscream, because I actually like MP-03.

Oh, I did check, the only news about a future Masterpiece is the rumour about Masterpiece Thundercracker. Which perfectly fits my claim.

The soundwave and grimlock rumours were word of mouth from fans only. There was no evidence for them, sadly. Baseless rumours are the worst kind of rumours.

Doubted those are the real pics of the Japanese version. Those look like old pics from else where. Seen them before, just can't remember where. I bet HLJ just grabbed some pics they can find at the moment and used them for updating the page with the new release date.

I wouldn't call that rumour, just wishful thinking. Serious rumours (instead of "I heard...") usually have a basis (like Thundercracker on Skywarp's package) to them.

That's not news on Seibertron nor does it seem to be news at TFW2005 nor does the original poster state where that "rumour" comes from. And if that Chinese indeed does translate to what everyone wants it to translate to, the other little wishful thinking was wrong.

But, well, you know, I heard from a reliable source that MP-10 will be Hot Rod.

Sorry for the rant, just never understood why everyone gets so upset everytime a G1 rendition of Starscream gets released without coronation gear.

This is a simple one to answer, the majority of Transformer fans love that brief moment where Starscream FINALLY realizes his dream of truly becoming the decepticon leader.
It was an inconic moment, because it had been teased in just about EVERY episode of transformers throughout G1.

The coronation gear was SUPPOSED to be over the top because Starscream is over the top.

He had finally bested Megs, convinced the other 'cons to follow him and proven the worth of his infamous treachery. Even if it only lasted a minute or so on screen it is a staple of transformers fiction.

There is a reason that the new Diamond Select busts on preorder include Starscream AND Coronation Starscream.
I dont think we will be seeing any Dr. Arkeville busts anytime soon.

Quantity doesnt equal quality.

The coronation gear to me ranks right up there with the people who gripe that every Megatron and Prime figure needs their Energon Mace and Axe. Those weapons were only used in the Sherman Dam episode early on in season 1 and then you never see them again, yet fans are willing to pay quite a bit extra in some cases for example, the TFC bookstyle Megatron because of the energon mace over the much cheaper but still exact same mold of the Encore without it.

Ironically, no Starscream fans are clamoring for his Wheelie style energon slingshot used in the same episode that you never see him use again.

Honestly I'm suprised there aren't Jazz fans out there that are upset that he doesn't come with a retractable grappling hook arm and towline since he uses that several times in season 1. I've never seen anyone complain that Sideswipe doesn't come with his rocket pack, which it's weird he has one in the first place since Autobots apparently can fly. On several occasions Mirage, Sideswipe, and Sunstreak have parachutes but no one has demanded they need those as accessories.

I guess I just find it funny what some fans expect or feel is expected to be included in every incarnation of a certain figure because they used it once in an episode.

wheter or not it was news is not the point. It was still a rumor. If you feel like starting a rumor about mp-10 feel free, it will be rumor...
