Sigh, nevermind.
It will be aimed at the younger generation. And it had better have Ellis George reprising her Courtney Woods character.

I was trying to remember which one Courtney was again
I just remembered a topic I wanted to bring up, thanks burn
In your opinion, what is the target audience for Doctor Who? I know what the official stance is (Family/Kids) hut I just wondered what everyone thought

That's not really a matter of opinion, less so when there's an official stance on the subject.

To me it's always been cross-generation. Scary enough to scare the kids but not scar them, and mature enough for the adults to connect with it.

doctorwhonews.net posted a round up of press reactions to Under the Lake and one caught my eyes.
Have we already got to that point as humans that we can no longer tolerate the time between cliff-hanger episodes?
TV Fanatic feels frustrated by the two part nature of this season. Yeah, I'm a Netflix guy and rather than build anticipation for the second part, waiting a week (with other shows in-between) simply frustrates me. Can't you already tell the juicy stuff is coming in the second half?

We live in a world of almost instant gratification, apart from the very new shows. Though in some cases, you'd think people would be quite capable of waiting, I mean how long did we have to wait for new who anyway and the yes always the unavoidable year wait between seasons. We should be lucky that the seasons don't end on massive cliffhangers

To be fair stu, the dalek and cyberman set won't be out till later as they are wave four - five.
Now if they make a lego tomb of the cybermen...
Finally watched the episode the other night. Loved it, felt like classic who. Now I've been trying to figure out how the doctor will get out of this

But they need that little blue disk to work with the game...along with all the other sets. Lego really know how to get their money. Really if they wanted they could make a series of their mini-figures just Who related.
And how long till Dr Who few a dedicated game (which I would totally buy)

The two doctor who packs, the doctor and the cyberman/dalek packs come out November. Those two are for the lego Dimensions game, The Tardis is a special edition lego IDEAS set like the ghostbusters Ecto-1 or the Delorian from back to the future. The problem was those special sets in retrospect needed special parts, however due to the way they work, lego couldn't make new molds. The lego Dimensions lincense allowed them a legal loophole to make new molds and use them for the special edition IDEAS sets

I meant to post thoughts on it last night but I got caught up playing mass effect again.
I enjoyed it, despite my wife calling the twist as soon as the doctor went into the church. The fisher king I felt was actually built up too much. Makes me wonder if we will be seeing that race again...
The intro did confuse me at first as I tried making sense of its relation to the episode but it took the doctor to explain the significance of it and was a good way of incorporating a time travel dilemma.
A question though, he brought up the problem with changing history but nothing has been mentioned again of the creatures that appeared from the first season of new who when Rose decided to change history. So have those creatures been conveniently forgotten about?

Don't worry about that
Just read some comments on a review of the episode and it appears to have polarised fans

Well, thoughts. Under the Lake/Before the Flood was pretty dang good in my opinion. Only spoiler was when the Doctor mentioned the bootstrap paradox. I do take my time travel seriously, so I knew instantly what he meant. It totally ruined the episode for me, but aside from that, I loved it! Plus the Fisher King was amazing looking.

No, nor really but that's not really the point here is it?

Just read that Capaldi played the guitar for the revised intro and turns out he used to have his own band, I say keep the new into.
From looking online, it looks like I'm among a few who are looking forward to next weeks episode. Vikings vs aliens, what's not to love?

He didn't change history, he just participated in a stable time loop.

That was also him playing guitar on the tank in the season premier.

Compared the first part, I thought the second part was a let down.
And ffs ... those sunglasses have got to go. They're going to end up more over-used than the screwdriver.

I'll be surprised if they keep the glasses for next season but it's anyone's guess if Moffat stuck with them for the rest of this season.

Re: The Dr Who (and spin-offs) Thread *potential spoilers*
Loose the sunglasses. They were a nice little joke in episode 2, but they don't work as a screwdriver replacement. Or at the very least, give them some tech details so they don't just look like something he grabbed off the shelf.
I thoroughly enjoyed this 2 parter. The ghosts maintained consistent logic throughout. The scene with the axe dragging behind deaf girl was amazingly shot. Deaf girl (I'm sorry, I can't remember her name), I love the fact she was just there, no one draw any attention to her being deaf, nor did it factor into some kind of deus ex machina solution. She was there as just another character.
Also loved the look and voice of the Fisher King. Major kudos to the prop/costume/art department on that. Can this guy write more episodes please?
