The worst weapons/accessories included with a Transformer
Hey Seibetrono's, recently picked up Dark Steel, and I really like him. The Quickstrike homage is welcome, the colors are unique, he's a cool car, and it's a good excuse to have the DOTM Sideswipe mold. His Mech-Tech weapon on the other hand...not so much.
For one, he can barely hold it in robot mode uncombined. And combined? Forget about it. His hands just weren't meant to work with it(if he had holes in the wheels it may have worked). Oh, and vehicle mode? Lame.
So that bring me to my point: What weapons/accessories included with a Transformer have been so dumb or unwieldy you don't both with and throw in a box or drawer? My short list so far:
The afformentioned Dark Steel weapons.
Cybertron gorilla Optimus Prime(al). The surf bord kinda works in ape mode, but not so much in robot mode. And all it does is turn into an awkward and large bazooka, or a giant sword if you use your imagination.
Cybertron Wreckloose. Beast mode works fine, a neato hat. Robot mode, design flaw. It doesn't look bad, but he just can't hold it at all, and it works so much better on his back. Missed oppertunity more than bad, but I'm including it anyway.
Transmetal 2 Dinobot's tail. Yeah there's a reason it's never used in the show. He can't really hold it, and when you try to use the action feature it falls off. I wouldn't be shocked if they designed the tail to pull off as a safety hazard, then molded a peg into his hand to pass it off as a "weapon".
Primus's Cyber Lock(think that's what it was called). Eh, it's not bad, but I never gave it much of a thought since I can transform him without using it. It holds keys and not much else.

*HINT* Wreckloose's got T-shaped holes under his elbows just for that weapon.

True, but due to the komodo dragon shoulder pads and his odd arm articulation, it's still extremely awkard to pose. Plus when you try to move his elbow most of the time you bend the wrist up, knocking the shield out of socket. Which reminds me, if I didn't know it called a "blade shield" I woulnd't know what to make of it.
Sorry Wreckloose, Captain America(or perhaps Protocide) you ain't.

Re: The worst weapons/accessories included with a Transformer
Anything the character can't hold or utilize properly is usually a loss in my book.
For example, Masterpiece Rodimus has a Matrix of Leadership accessory to hold and another smaller one embedded inside his chest. Why do we need two? It's not like he can even hold either one properly to begin with.

It's a bit of a toss up really. MechTech is better in that they were seperate to the figure, Cyberkeys tended to be integrated into the figure which often reduced it's awesomeness.
At least MechTech you can remove and throw away.

After customizing a good handful of them, Animated Arcee's wings are redundant.
Know it's easy to beak Armada Sideswipe, but his weapons don't even flush well in either mode and he's got one of the worst mini-cons to boot.
Classics Bumblebee's Jetski/Backpack.. yeah, def not a fan.

DOTM Cyberverse Powerglide, WTF? (and Guzzle is nearly as bad). The weapons are damn ugly, asymmetrical and superfluous. Aeroplanes need weapons that are at the very least symmetrical IMO. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Cyberkeys are pretty dumb, and I nearly forgot all about them!! When activating a gimmick, I usually find a pointed part of the figure or use a pen or a missile or something.
But are mechtech weapons really that bad? I only have Laserbeak and Darksteel mechtech from DOTM, and I really like Laserbeak's weapons. Sure the combined mode looks goofy and I never use it, but alone they work quite well.

I have Darksteel and Air Raid, but are cool in their own way, but the MECHTECH weapons are a joke. Like said earlier, DS can barely hold his own weapons and the shield/blaster for Air Raid has to be modded to use it. I dont think Hasbro wasnt thinking clearly when designed these for deluxe toys.

RID Powerizer Optimus' gun thing is just the worst. Awful. Must be the worst weapon to ever come with a prime. I think it's actually the worst weapon I've ever gotten with a Transformer. On the other hand I painted the sword he comes with and that now looks really nice. I think I like it better than the sword that came with the First Edition Prime.

Hasbro MP Grimlock, that stupid crown is stupid and the chrome just flakes off right out of the box. I would have preferred the accessories of the Tak release, but oh well, you get what you pay for.

Many Alternators' weapons. They are just pathetically ugly and small.
And those kiss players. Need to say no more.
Any weapons that were made in soft plastic. Notably Cybertron Vector Prime, ROTF voyager Bludgeon, Generations Drift, etc.

They do combine into a gun for robot mode. Granted by "gun" I mean "mass of missiles with a handle in the middle for PG to hold onto," so that might not improve things.
