I thought it looked like more of a dark grey... of course, sometimes depending on exact color and lighting, grey and silver can be tough to tell apart in photos.
Anyway, while it sure as heck isn't G1 accurate, and as ironic as it is to say this about an accessory that exists to make a figure more like its G1 self, I like it. It gives the wings some texture. The flat orange look on this toy actually seemed kind of lifeless. This gives it the kick it needed.
Of course, that is just my opinion. My condolences if you disagree... Maybe the paint used on the wings will come off easily with a touch of rubbing alcohol?
Ah, I see. You guys are referring to the gray/metallic (whatever, not sure myself either

) detailing on the wings.
Yes, I definitely agree with you there Yosuyasan. This is clearly a very "Generations" figure, by which I mean a "homage" to G1 but definitely NOT G1 so creative license, additional detailing and other such liberties are definitely not just OK, but in fact encouraged in my book. For example, I'm in the camp that actually likes the idea of Perceptor transforming into a vehicle instead of a microscope even though G1 Perceptor was one of my favorite toys as a kid (I have the reissue now of course

) and I'm not bothered at all by the different takes Has/Tak have had on other characters like the wonderful Voyager Optimus we got back in the day (Henkei! Henkei! FTW

). That said, I also love add-ons like this that give you just that one needed touch to get to the core of what I feel at least is an essential part of who these characters were. They always had these iconic bits in the show so getting accessories that give them back is A-OK with me

.
I just have to wait and see how these sets look with the Takara versions of the figures, and if they don't match, I must hope that these guys do in fact create a set for the TG versions because those are the versions I'm getting of these two.
