From the first couple of pix it looks like the guy lives around a junkyard or has a lot of scrap metal (I am betting he owns a junkyard)
For some reason I am doubting he spent that over $10,000 on the piece. His 75 hours of construction sound right though.

Not gonna lie, that took talent. However, I can't help but think that someone with that kind of talent could have done a better job. I really like the head and the overall look of the statue. But a better coat of paint instead of trying to maintain the "rustic" look of oil from the junkyard probably would have done that thing wonders.
Also, I think I choked a little bit on the lameness of the ad. It also doesn't do him any favors that he says that he'll stop taking orders on dec 18th and then closes that article with a link to his ebay auction. Which, for the record, looks like it had about the same amount of success selling the thing that his ad did. Plus, the bit about him spending 70g's of his own money stinks awfully when you see that he ends up putting it on ebay for about half that.
I don't know....the statue itself is cool but the rest; the ad, the scenario, the "personal quotes" from Optimus that are just movie sound bytes, is not.
