now THIS guy i would spend money on, since it seems HasTak has no interest in offering us a Metrotitan.

Awwww crap! Looks like I just ran out of excuses to not get this mold. Whelp, who wants some transformers I'll be putting up on eBay eventually? (There's a marketplace forum around here, isn't there...)

I so feel that sentiment. I don't even have Utopia yet. But I'm hoping that there's a possibility some time down the line I can pick this guy (and Utopia) up. I guess we'll know more once MakeToys decides to provide the info.

It's kind of tempting, but I do belive Takara will milk their mold down the line.

So, he's a bit cheaper than Utopia at $379.99. I was not expecting that. However, add on the $54.99 shipping and knowing there's roughly a month time span to pay for one of these guys... it feels like this just needs to be a running exclusive on MT's website and not a limited sale. Of course that's only because I think many people might want this who simply cannot get the funds together in time to buy it. MT's plans may not consider that, and think that a smaller run/sell-through is enough success.
Anyways, I think I'm going to stop beating myself up over this guy now. He looks nice, but he's so far from being needed in my collection.
I can't help but feel that's a jab at customers complaining about previous MT exclusive items showing up looking like they've been beat to hell before arriving. Many people are talking about Scourge showing up with boxes damaged, and I remember Ripper having very little protection in their shipping box.

That's interesting. I got mine the other day and I don't see anything that could be considered 'damaged'.

I'm still waiting for mine, but there have been some users at TFW2005 posting pictures/comments of how their boxes arrived. There was at least one instance where a bundle of 3 boxes were tied so tightly that the material cut through the shipping boxes. Thankfully, I don't recall hearing any issues with the contents of the package itself.
I don't care so much about the package as much as the figure and accessories inside, but I think it's worth noting these types of issues.

Yeah, that's fair. I'm not much to care for the boxes either which is why I say 'damaged'. The corners look a little scuffed up, but I don't see this as being something MakeToys is at fault for. It's the quarterbacks in our delivery and postal service department and while I'm not thrilled about it, as long as the item within the package arrives undamaged I'm content.

Yeah, I don't know that I can do this now... *sigh*
[Edit] So I looked into their site, and it is incomplete. I wonder what payment methods they are going to accept...

Looks wonderful and I still love that carrier mode.
However, still too rich for my blood all at once. I'll just have to live with repainting one of my Hasbro 'Plexes.

I think this is a bad idea. Here's why...
Big toys sell poorly in Japan.
Takara's redecos of Unicron include: their 2010 United special edition and Shining Unicron, a Lucky Draw
They released essentially the same figure in the US for Armada and only had repackaged versions of the Energon Unicron.
If Takara does a redeco of Metroplex, I would imagine they go for something like super toy accurate or a variation of what they already did. Japanese consumers just don't (usually) like larger figures because of the limited space most people have for display.
That being said...I could see SDCC doing Metrotitan. I could see some strange future where the Club finds a way to do it, but not Takara.
All this being said and Metrotitan is on the far edge of things normative collectors give a rat's ass about. We're really in the deep end of niche' here, ya know?

I kind of doubt it. If Tomy will be "religiously following" the back story of Metrowars to a fault, Metrotitan never was in Metroplex's size class. The latter got big because whe was reconstructed by the Nebulans after his battle with the former.
More or less, let's hope we get an Encore Metroplex in Metrotitan's colors as they are in scale in their fiction.

I don't think will ever get a MetroTitan with the Generation Metroplex... Not even SDCC. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't SDCC exclusives usually a redco of Current or soon to be released figures? Generation Metroplex came out 2 years ago, and they already did an SDCC version of him. It's hopeless, this will be the only one... Time to think about buying him!!
