Just been to see Blade Runner 2049, fantastic movie, the music is hauntingly similar to the original, the Spinners are made by Peugeot & great to see Ford, Olmos(I'm not spoiling anything coz they're in the trailers) back in it + other nods to the original too
oh...& here's 3 little extras

You go ahead and assume that without even starting a discussion then.
Now that you have, I'll keep my thoughts about Stranger Things to myself.

Forget stranger things, did anybody else watch last night's prophetic episode of the Orville? If not, go do so now. Behold the dangers of social media.

Quit living in the past Stu.
I was both intrigued, and a little terrified by that society.

In some ways, it's already come true. For or against, but answer me this: would Trump be president today without social media?

Would certain lard arsed "celebrities" be "celebrities" today without social media?
Without a doubt it's become a heavy influence. I went to a 2 (turned into 4) hour seminar the other night on advertising on social media. They demonstrated how you can use it to get your name and products out there.
When you live in a small rural town, it's obvious why the local paper is slowly dying (aside from the fact it's owned by Rupert Murdoch and the workers don't give a ****), it's because people are turning to social media for all their news and information.
We rarely use the paper or radio for advertising at work these days, we're getting much more exposure through Facebook.
I've also seen how easy it is for businesses to be damaged via social media too, just because of one post. Especially when the SJW's latch onto it.

Oh yes. Next month, I have to travel to Indy for a 4 hour class on how our social media, personal and professional, habits can effect the business. We also now have incentive bonuses starting next year based on how much we promote the company through Facebook and Twitter.
It's crazy.
Back on topic though, if that society became reality here are some people I'd be tempted to follow around, just to down vote them.

It would take a massive shift in maturity before we could become that society.
That was one thing I took away from that episode, while it may have been about popularity, they didn't seem as petty.

Stranger Things intrigues me. After I finish House of Cards and The Walking Dead that's next on my list.
And Blade Runner 2049 sucked, just like the original.
It was slow and boring, with an annoying soundtrack that was way too loud.

And I have to say, I never got around to watching the original until a few weeks ago, and I found it boring too.

I was bored last evening and decided to finally give Stranger Things a try.
Ended up watching 6 and a half episodes before I realized that I had to be up in 4 hours. Very good show. Lots and lots of glorious 80s nostalgia.

So I watched Wonder Woman the other day and it was disappointingly good. I'd almost prefer that it was bad, just to maintain the quality across the entire DCEU or whatever they're calling it.
